Gilmore and James W. Moody and is located in Kane County, Illinois. The first gunsmith in Woodridge was Jesse Bates who worked with a variety of guns including handguns and rifles. In 1868, Benjy Griesbach established his own gun shop which became one of the most popular in the town. Griesbach's shop continued to operate until 1914 when it closed due to financial problems. During this time period, Gun Parts History also mentioned that "the [gun] industry went through several transformations." The first firearm that was made entirely within the town limits was a revolver named "The Rifleman" manufactured by George Washington Smith & Sons at 494 Elm Street between 1875-1876. This revolver was unique as it featured an integral magazine which allowed for reloading without having to remove the entire firearm from its stock or carrying case. Another early firearm that was produced within the limits of Woodridge is an automatic rifle known as the "Pistolero". Woodridge is a small community in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 22,912 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Woodridge was founded in 1871 by General James K. Polk and his wife Julia Lawless Polk as a farming village on the west side of Chicago. The name "Woodridge" comes from a nearby stream, which it shares its name with. The first school in Woodridge was built in 1872 and remained open until 1954 when it was replaced by Central High School. At that point, Woodridge became an all-girls high school for girls only. In 1976, boys were admitted to the school after girls surpassed girls enrollment at Central to become the single largest gender split among buildings on campus at that time (Central still enrolls both genders). In 2006, changes were made to Central's curriculum which shifted most ninth grade coursework towards college preparatory courses such as Macroeconomics and American History instead of traditional high school subjects like English Literature and Math. In addition to being an all-girls school for girls only until 1976 when boys were admitted to the school after girls surpassed girls enrollment at Central to become the single largest gender split among buildings on campus at that time (Central still enrolls both genders), Woodridge also offers coed sports programs including men’s tennis and golf; women’s soccer; cross country; track & field; basketball; baseball; softball; dance/dance recitals/events/ choir events/math competitions/pilot airplane training classes for elementary students grades 4th-8th inclusive According to 2000 US Census data, there are now 11% male residents compared with 9% female residents living within 2 miles of town limits according to2010 census data

Woodridge is an incorporated town in DeKalb County, Illinois, United States. The population was 5,553 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The first settlers arrived in 1831 and platted the village of Woodridge on what is now Peoria Street. The name "Woodridge" came from a grant by the Illinois General Assembly to John Woods in 1837 for land lying between Lake Michigan and the present-day city of Chicago. In 1850, a post office called "Woodridge" was established at a location near where Wabash Avenue now stands. In 1857, residents of adjoining towns of Mount Prospect and Park Forest petitioned for incorporation as Woodridge because they did not want their own stores or schools closed down by locals who had claim to the same land. On November 2, 1857, as a result of this incorporation referendum vote (by a margin of 99 to 0), Woodridge became an organized town with its own government and By-Laws. On December 1st 1860, during one of the most bitter winters on record in northcentral Illinois, heavy snowfalls caused blizzard conditions which continued until early morning on December 8th; all but one house in Woodridges were destroyed by windblown snowflakes and frozen water droplets that fell from the sky like raindrops. After more than fifty years as an unincorporated community governed by township trustees appointed by the local government within DeKalb County - effective only until 1954 when it became an independent municipality under state law - Woodridge voters elected themselves trustees on November 3rd 2006 via special levy election ballots approved by referendum just two months earlier following passage through both chambers of the Illinois General Assembly (then known as Senate) concurrent with re-election season for then-Governor Pat Quinn . The new trustees are given jurisdiction over all school district operations including budgets and personnel decisions; however day-to-day governance remains under local control with township trustee meetings being held quarterly rather than monthly or every six months like before
