Gun Parts History in Wood River, Illinois began with the importation of firearms into the town in 1853. The first gun was a percussion cap revolver that was purchased from Ebenezer Perry by D.W. Barnes and W.H.Fenton. The gunsmiths who worked on this new weapon were Isaac Iverson and John Purdy, both of whom had experience working on muzzle-loading rifles imported from England. These early guns were chambered for the 7mm Winchester rifle cartridge which was developed in 1848 by Dr. George Armstrong Cope and patented in 1859. In 1854, two more gunsmiths, John Purdy and Isaac Iverson, joined forces to form the partnership of Iverson & Purdy Gun Works which would continue to make firearms until 1861 when it merged with Gibbs & Co., also located in Wood River. This move happened because of increasing competition from other firearm manufacturers based out of Chicago due to theOpening of the Erie Canal which made transportation easier for buyers and sellers alike. In 1861, Gibbs & Co.'s factory closed down after producing only 6 guns that year alone compared to Iverson&Purdy's 27 firearms that year! The years following 1861 saw a decline in production due to technological advancements such as interchangeable parts which allowed for greater variety within each firearm design whereas old-fashioned manufacturing processes like hand forging did not allow for this same level of modernization anymore. However, due to these declines did not mean that Gun Parts History didn't occur; rather it simply shifted emphasis towards newer technologies such as 3D printing technology which has since become an omnipresent part of modern firearm manufacturing! With all things considered though, Gun Parts History can be dated back to 1853 when pistols were first imported into Wood River specifically for use within the militia system! The valley is bounded on the north by the Indiana border, on the east by Missouri state line, and on the south by Arkansas state line. The headwaters of the river are located in Noble County, Indiana. The main stem of the Wood River flows through Kane County, Illinois before reaching its confluence with the Mississippi River just upstream from Cairo, Illinois. As a result of its location and width, Wood River has many tributaries that join it near its source. These tributaries include Deer Creek, Maple Leaf Creek, Pigeon Creek, Turkey Branch, Black Hawk Creek and White Oak Creek.

In 1871, the town of Wood River was established in Knox County, Illinois. The town was named after the wooded area around it. By 1907, the population of the village had reached 350 people. In 1916, aone-room schoolhouse was built in Wood River and remains in use to this day. On October 15th, 1922, a community fire destroyed most of the original buildings in Wood River. Today only a few foundations remain from when the town consisted of over fifty structures. In 1925, an electric power line was built through Wood River and several businesses were opened along it. In 1933-1934, a new water system was installed and parkland was developed around it. The name change to WoodRiver Village on November 1st, 1936 coincided with its incorporation into the city of Chicago as part of that city's "inner city" program. The population increased rapidly during World War II as defense industries turned to WoodRiver for workers. The 1945 census found that there were 456 residents inWoodRiver Village; however, by 1951 this number had shrunk to 219 due to growth in other nearby communities such as West Ridge Township and Glencoe Township. When Rockford City annexed much of west suburban Chicago in 1955-1957 there were no longer any restrictions on annexation so much acreage within what is now Rockford City became available for development as well; which led to increased growth for both villages along their border until all but one building remaining from 1924 have been demolished or replaced since then (the one exception being a small museum next door at 615 N Maple Ave.). On July 9th, 1957 voters approved an ordinance authorizing annexation of portions of West Ridge Township including part of what is now Greenfield Park along with all current boundaries between those townships and village limits; giving rise to today’s total area contained within both villages: 229 acres combined
