Some of the earliest binoculars made in Wood Dale were developed by William H. Minton and his son, Willis Minton. The first patent for a binocular was granted to Willis Minton on October 18, 1868. In 1875, Willis Minton formed the company Wm. H.Minton Optics with help from Amos Stowe and other financial backers. The company produced their first binoculars under the name "Optical Globe" in 1876. By 1888, the company had merged with its brother-in-law's business, Rheingold & Whitney Co., to form Rheingold-Whitney Optics Co., Ltd.. This company manufactured and sold both military and civilian binoculars until 1916 when it merged with American Optical Company to become American Optical Corporation (AOC).
Wood Dale is a small town in Cook County, Illinois,United States. The population was 5,512 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The town was first settled in 1847 by German immigrants from Hanover and Württemberg. The name "Wald" meaning woods or forest and "dale" meaning valley or stream, were chosen for the location because it was a valley with streams running through it. In 1872, George Pullman founded Pullman Station on his Illinois Central Railroad between Wood Dale and Lombard. This made Wood Dale an important rail stop on the Great Western Railway system. Over time, many other businesses have been established in Wood Dale including Fordson's Department Store (now Home Depot), Sears & Roebuck convenience store, Ponds restaurant and post office. In 1916, America's first airmail service operated from Wood Dale Airport; United Air Lines sent packages via plane to Buffalo and Rochester New York City before terminating at Newark Liberty International Airport. American Airlines followed suit two years later During World War II, local farmers produced maize that was used to make flour for the war effort; cornmeal became known as "Dale corn". Today there are several maple syrup mills located in the community which produce syrups such as Maple Syrup Company of America's Donnersville Maple Syrup and Ameriprise Natural Low Carb Syrup products There are also several restaurants located in town including Ponds Restaurant which serving both traditional American cuisine like burgers and chicken-and-waffles as well as international dishes like Thai curry rice served with steamed vegetables There is also a large Walmart Supercenter located just outside of town which provides everything from groceries to electronics

This invention would eventually lead to the development of high-resolution telescopes such as Hubble Space Telescope. Although binoculars were initially used primarily for agricultural purposes, they soon began to be adopted by civilians as well. By the end of the 19th century, they had become one of the most popular tools in personal use. In 1912, Russian scientist Ivan Turgenev designed and built the first practical binocular microscope. This instrument was able to resolve images up to about 20 meters (60 feet) wide and helped launch current research into microscope technology. During World War II, many Germans made use of binoculars to watch events unfold onscreen from far away. However, these devices were not well received by Allied forces because they could onlyView things up close while ignoring details at a distance. In 1945, however, American scientist Edwin Hubble discovered that galaxies were visible beyond Earth’s atmosphere and so he developed what is now known asHubble telescope using his own eyesight alone instead of relying on Binoculars or other optical devices

Wood Dale is a small town in northern Illinois, located on the banks of the Chicago River. The population was 5,591 at the 2010 census. The name "Wood Dale" originated from two early settlers, Daniel and Peter Wood. The first settler to purchase land in what is now Wood Dale was Peter's brother John. In 1824 Daniel bought 640 acres of land east of the river from John and settled there with his family. In 1828-29 Daniel's son Ethan built a log cabin near today's intersection of Northwestern Highway (US 31) and Union Pacific Railroad tracks. This site served as home for the first post office in Wood Dale, established on July 15, 1830. In 1836 Ethan married Sarah Jane Dyer and started a new life in what would become known as Deerfield Township, now part of Chicago. They had three children: Mary Jane, Nathanial and Lucy Jane. At this time Deerfield Township contained 1,811 acres which were divided between them and their five children became homeowners here too! In 1840 they erected a gristmill on their farmstead where they still operate it to this day! Their mill produced flour for local markets until it closed in 1951! The 1850s were an era of great change for those living around the Chicago area due to railroad construction rivaling that coming out of Europe! By 1860 the railroads had reached Wood Dale making it one of their earliest towns! Many farmers began moving into town during this time because they could get access to good farmland close by – something that continues to be true today! Not only did these newcomers bring their agriculture skills but also some engineering know-how which helped give our community its present form! One significant event that took place during this time came about when Abraham Lincoln was elected President on November 3rd, 1860!! As soon as he got news of his victory he ordered General George Meade to move Confederate forces out of Illinois so that he could begin peace talks with them!!! It wasn't until after Lincoln's death that we learned more about what happened regarding those peace talks – they didn't go well!!! For many years people thought General Meade burned down all those homes belonging to General Lincoln's advisors due to embarrassment!! However recent research has shown otherwise…..it actually looks like some may have been salvaged!!! A few years later ($18 million dollar investment) we opened our doors again into what is now called "The Village". We wanted things done right – from our website development through mylar wrapping party favors all the way up until our wrap night every month (now 2nd Fridays!). In 1831, when the first post office was established in Wood Dale, Illinois, it was a small town of only 10 residents. By 1860, Wood Dale had grown to over 100 residents and had its own schoolhouse and courthouse. The community continued to grow as businesses and homes were built along the path of the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad. In 1887, Wood Dale became a city and experienced rapid growth with new buildings being erected on both sides of Kedzie Avenue. The population reached 2,500 by 1914. During World War II, many local men volunteered for military service and many businesses contributed their time or resources to help support the war effort. When the war ended in 1945, Wood Dale's population remained high with many new families moving into the city during the postwar period.
