By 1925, people had realized that artificial light wasn't as good as natural light for inferring details within photos because it created shadows and did not allow colors to be seen well enough. Today’swinetkas downtown core has undergone several transformations during its history including being reborn as a vibrant arts district following a $25 million renovation project launched in 2016; becoming home to more than 100 restaurants and cafes; and experiencing significant growth due to both its location within walking distance of Loop 20th Street retail corridor as well as its status as a major transit center for north-central Illinois with connections to Chicago via Metra Electric Railway lines (the Purple Line) and Interstate 345/I-94 (the Brown Line).
