One of the earliest devices to use airguns was a shotgun called an "olden times rifle." Shotguns were originally designed to kill game with one shot, but they also had capability to shoot small pellets that could be deadly if aimed carefully. This type of weapon was used by hunters in pre-industrial societies for hunting small animals like rabbits, squirrels, or birds. Shotguns were also used as artillery weapons in war against enemies who were armed with firearms. Airguns first became popular among shooters in the early 1900s because they were much simpler and easier to use than shotguns and other firearm types. Airguns can be fired using either manual or automatic modes, making them very versatile compared to other shooting devices. The first automatic air guns were developed by George Eastman in 1903. These guns utilized a gas gun thatfired cartridges which exploded on impact with another object such as a rock or paper target. By doing this, Eastman was able to create an extremely fast projectile that could be hurled great distances with little effort from the shooter. Manual mode air Guns began being manufactured around this time as well but ultimately Automatic Mode Air Guns will always hold a greater legacy due to their simplicity and ease of use

Wilmette, Illinois is a city in the Great Lakes region of North America. The population was 53,819 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Kane County and home to Illinois State University. The first human settlement in what is now Wilmette was made by Chief Wabash in 1814 during his tour of the area as part of his exploration of the area that would become Illinois. The village was named for WIlliam H. Wilmot, a U.S. Representative from Ohio who also served as U.S Minister to Sweden and Norway during the mid-1800s. In 1838, after being evacuated from Terre Haute due to a fire, about 350 people living in tents on Prairie du Chien's Buffalo Creek were moved into what became known as "the new town." In 1840, when Joliet was founded nearby by some men713 led by Colonel John Fritchey714 they too petitioned for land east of their present limits and received 3 square miles (7 square kilometers). However, because they had not yet furnished evidence that they were actually going to live there (i.e., paid taxes), they were refused entry into this newly founded town plat on May 6th1840 - an event which has been immortalized by local residents as "the date that Wilmette started." On July 8th 1846, when Chicago was created from parts of three neighboring townships – Ottawa Township (now Loop) including Wilmette and portions of Streamwood – it annexing all but 1/2 acre (0 hectare) of Prairie du Chien’s Buffalo Creek Lots #1 through #3; thus starting what would be over 25 yearslong history of annexation by Chicago! In 1850–51 $4 worth ($100 today) worth of silver coins had been struck at Rock Island mint under terms specified therein for admission into Chicago as part of its planned Burning OFenchantment Celebration & All-Out War Against Mexico! On November 5th1850 while General James Sully led 700 troops northwestward along Pulaski Road past Fort Dearborn towards Chicagoland he ordered Colonel Edward Pemberton with another detachment comprising 300 Indiana militia pioneers to burn down many buildings near Prairie du Chien’s “New Town” site; this having been deemed necessary due to Mexican activity along US-Canada border! Although initially successful in putting out most if not all flames; some buildings did withstand such intense heat that several days later still standing structures became known as “The Old Town Fire House”! Because so much property had already been given up within 2½ miles radius around New Town (& adjacent Indian reservation), fires continued ravaging neighbouring properties until December 10th1850 when order arrived to put out remaining dwellings!! As can be inferred from these various events & documents associated with early Wilmette development it appears that although initial plans called for only one small village located southeast corner lot @ river mouth; subsequent growth resulted in addition or annexation/transferring additional lots within 2½ miles radius around nascent town center!!! Some other key players involved during this foundational period include: Captain George Stephenson (founder president pro tem recently admitted guilt Obama appointee for creating illegal email server); Nathan Hale (Ulysses S Grant's Attorney General during American Civil War); Drury Lane Theatre Co.; Mrs Geoge Washington Carleton (wife Of Ulysses S Grant); Amos Kendall; Reverend John Laddish [later First Baptist Church pastor]; Jno Crainiere [Grumman electrician]; Anthony Preble ; Capt Richard Weldon ; Capt David Ransom ; Rev Solomon McCurdy ; Elias Howe Sr.; Henry Deering [builder]
Wilmette was founded in 1836 by George Washington and his son, James K. Polk. The city is named after the river that runs through it. The first post office was established in 1837, and the first store was built in 1840. By 1860, Wilmette had a population of over 20,000 people. In 1865, the city became a state capital. In 1898, Wilmette hosted the Chicago World's Fair.
