The Wheaton Rifle Association (WRA) was founded in 1892 by a group of businessmen and farmers who wanted to make sure that their community had the best rifles for hunting. The WRA has been responsible for the creation of many famous firearms, such as the Winchester Model 1897 and John Browning’s Model 1911. Today, the WRA continues to promote gun safety and education through its numerous programs, including hunting clinics and NRA member events. Although there have been times when problems have arisen due to this type of communalism (such as during the 2007 tornado outbreak) overall everyone seems more than willing to help without expecting anything in return back from those who contribute.

Wheaton, Illinois is a town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 10,586 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The first people to live in what is now Wheaton were the Potawatomi Indians who traveled down the Fox River to trade with the white man. The first European settlers arrived in 1814 when Captain John Smith and his party discovered land that would later become Wheaton Township. The area around present day Wheaton was originally called "Wenatchee" because of its water supply from the Wenatchee River which flows through it. After living for several years among these new settlers, some of the Potawatomi Indians decided to move westward into what is now Parkland County where they founded a village called Waneta on December 11th, 1816. On January 1st, 1818, during President James K. Polk's War of 1812 against General Andrew Jackson's army, General David Dixon ordered all Indian residents in Prairie du Chien (now Waukesha) County except for about 50 men and boys under age 16 to leave their homes and head south onto open prairies near Mount Carmel which became known as Dixon's Road because General Dixon established it as an official military road connecting Prairie du Chien with Council Bluffs (then Fort Wayne). Most of these families did not have enough food or clothing to make it all the way south so they turned back towards their villages and encampments at Waneta and Council Bluffs respectively before finally reaching safety on July 12th; however many died along the way due to dehydration or exposure during hot summer days on open prairies without shade or protection fromthe sun. Colonel Alexander Shields proposed that a town be founded around this event but no one wanted to risk being caught up in war again so Shields went back home after only a few months and reported his findings back to Mr. Stephenson who then sent him away again telling Shields that he had nothing more to propose since there wasn't much left over from when Shields last visited other than some tents and some cows which should be milked every day by local farmers while they were still available so Shields returned home emptyhanded once again I believe this was probably becauseShields felt like he didn't get any credit for anything he accomplished while working for Stephenson rather then receiving recognition from Mr.. Stephenson himself which perhaps led him feel unappreciated by his boss
Wheaton was founded in 1795 by Nicholas-Jacques Wheaton and his wife, Anne. The town grew quickly due to its location on the Illinois River and its close proximity to other settlements. By 1812, the town had a population of over 500 inhabitants and was incorporated as a village. In 1827, Wheaton became the first municipality in Illinois. It retains this status to this day.
