Westmont is a city in Peoria County, Illinois, United States. The population was 15,501 at the 2010 census. It is the second most populous city in Peoria County after downtown Chicago. The area now known as Westmont was first settled by German and Czech immigrants who arrived in 1848. The village of Westmont was organized in 1871. The town of Westmont was established on July 1, 1907, from parts of the village of East Randolph. On November 3, 1912, the town merged with the village of East Randolph to form the current city of Peoria. On January 1, 2013, Southwest Community College opened a new campus located in west-central Westmont that would be home to its main campus for undergraduate students and graduate students until 2019.
