In 1916 it was announced that he had sold his business interest to Frank Browning who continued running the shop until his death in 1954 followed by his son John Browning Sr.. From then on until 1959 there was only one owner/operator called 'John Browning Jr.' who ran the business under various name changes including The Firearms Company (1957 - 1960), The Pistol Company (1960 - 1966), John Browning Arms & Ammunition (1966 - 1969), John Browning Arms & Machineguns (1969 - 1980) before finally settling down permanently at 7200 Wabash Avenue in 1990s after purchasing an additional 100 acres within town limits. It should be noted that during this time period browning productions were located primarily at three separate facilities: 1) Jurgenson's Gun Shop 2) The Armoury located on State Street Just north of US 131 3) Smith & Wesson Building located at 5thaven Drive just east off I-290
