This new design made it much easier for Officers to carry their pistols without having them fall off during movement. This also allowed for more comfortable wearing because there was no need to worry about how tight or loose the straps were going to fit around your body

Western Springs is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 3,397 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The Village of Western Springs was organized as a town on December 15, 1873 by the merger of two other villages, Spring Grove and Northbrook. On November 26, 1881, it became a city when its boundaries were revised following annexations from neighboring townships. In January 1893, Western Springs annexed the neighboring village of Evanston to form a new city. On July 1, 1896 Western Springs merged with the remaining Unincorporated Communities in Cook County to become one municipality under the name "Western Springs". The unification ceremony took place at Zion Methodist Church on West Side Highway in downtown Western Springs. In 1920-1921 an effort to construct a dam across Crystal Lake failed due to public opposition and lack of financial support from businessman George Norris; this failure is generally considered to be the beginning ofthe modern water crisis in Illinois which would climax several years later with Mayor Richard Moseley'sfailed solution to solve that crisis known as ""The Great Chicago Flood."" After World War II until 1978 no new development occurred within City limits save for scattered farming and manufacturing efforts; however recent revitalization has started with limited commercial development but many high-end home developments nearby On October 17th 2015 City Council voted unanimously 7-0 approving annexation into Park Ridge by The Woodlands Estates Company LLC., making Western Springs an official part of Park Ridge (a suburb located about 10 miles south east of Chicago). This makes Western Springs one of only 2 cities in Illinois that have been annexed into another municipality without first VOTING TO DO SO - THE OTHER WAS SPRING GROVE!
