Western Springs is a small town in McLean County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. By 2000, only 5% of the population still lived within the municipal boundaries and all but one of the businesses had closed down by that point due to economic recession or consolidation among surrounding businesses that had followed similar trends over the years.
