After the war ended in 1945, most AShO plants closed down but some continued operations until their closure in 1989; these last operations were eventually sold to Jost Bredow after his purchase of all remaining assets of AShO Corporation in 1990 Today'sWestChicago is home to several dozen small businesses including four restaurants/cafés; two pet stores; two hardware stores; two video game retailers; three health food stores; one dry goods store; one grocery store (PepsiCo-owned); and one vehicle dealership specializing in used cars only although Zipcar has also opened here since 2006

This dam was later named after Mayor John Pemberton (1868-1924) who championed its construction because he saw it as an imperative step in securingwest Chicago's future as a municipally incorporated town
