Warrenville, Illinois is a town in Macomb County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,472 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The village of Warrenville was incorporated on December 12, 1872. On January 3, 1893, it became a city and on July 8 of that year it merged with the neighboring town of Burr Ridge to form Warrenville-Burr Ridge City. On November 7, 1924 the city was renamed to Warrenville after Colonel John S. Warren who had been its first Mayor and an early resident of the community (1862-1866). In 1932 the name reverted back to Burr Ridge when it lost its merger with Warrenville. On March 14, 1951 Chevrolet introduced their first GMC truck in history at a dealership located inWarrenville called "The Chevy Showroom". At this time GMC trucks were still considered luxury vehicles and did not have any advertising or merchandising tie-ins like other popular brands such as Ford or Chrysler which started doing this during this time period. However General Motors chose to celebrate their 50th anniversary by introducing several new models throughout 1951 including the Chevrolet Suburban pickup truck and Oldsmobile Cutlass sports car which are still considered classic examples today due to their unique design features and popularity among collectors/drivers alike

Today,Warrenville remains an unassuming community that visitors can visit without fear of being followed or harassed by locals
