Villa Park is a small town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,595 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Villa Park was founded in 1872 by Samuel and Anna Pratt. Villa Park is located on the border of Cook and Will counties. The original village site only consisted of a few hundred acres (0.82 km²). In 1892, the village doubled in size when it annexed the neighboring town of Skokie. The annexing process increased Villa Park's population to 2,000 residents by 1912. At that point, it became one of the largest villages in Cook County by land area and one of its most populous municipalities by population. In 1916, Villa Park voters passed a resolution recommending that the Village form an electric utility company with two divisions: one for home electricity customers and another for industrial users such as factories androlling mills. On November 15th 1916, this proposal was accepted and organized as "Illinois Electric Company" with J C Madden as President and W H Anello as General Manager/CEO. The first electric poles were erected within six weeks from approval by authorities under Governor John P Farley on December 12th 1916 with plans to have power available to all citizens within twenty-four hours following installation! With rapid growth came new infrastructure needs; a new water tower was built in 1922 along with a sewage system which resulted in an increase in property values around town. By 1930 there were over 100 businesses based out of Villa Park! In 1958, Elgin Area Telephone Company merged into Illinois Bell Telephone Company creating what is now Comcast cable TV service here! On July 1st 1959 residents voted overwhelmingly to become members of both the Lake Forest community northward while still retaining their own municipality name but without Village Hall or Town Hall services being provided until after unification on October 3rd 1959 which included opening of Village HallDecember 8th 1959!!! After three years operating under separate names we united back into one Municipality effective January 1st 1960!!!

In 1922, the company changed its name to United States Trust & Savings Bank Corporation (USTSB). USTSB helped support American industry through its lending capabilities and retail presence. It alsoprovided financial assistance to farmers and other businesses across the country. The bank remained active until it was acquired by Wells Fargo in 2002. Today, UTSB is part of Wells Fargo Private Banking division.

Villa Park was founded in 1851 by George Washington Morrison, who donated the land to the Illinois State Normal School. The school moved to Villa Park in 1887 and became the University of Illinois. In 1916, Villa Park became a city and was renamed Chicago. Chicago annexed Villa Park in 1955, making it a part of the city proper.
