In Taylorville, Illinois there have been airguns for over a century. The first volley of shots fired from an airgun in this community was on October 5th, 1892 by a group of six boys using shotguns. These early pioneers were the mostly white men who used firearms to hunt game. Initially these guns were simply pistols with barrels that were about 4 inches long and had round balls (the type used today). By 1903, the town had two rifle ranges and one shotgun range open to the public. In 1911, Air Gun Club was formed inTaylorville to provide instruction and meet common needs such as providing targets and ammunition for practicing airguns. The club met every other month at different locations around town until 1935 when it moved into its current building which has been occupied continuously since then. Originally designed as an indoor target range it has now become an outdoor venue for all types of shooting including Target Shooting, Pistol Practice, Rifle Practice, Shotgun Practice and many more events each year! Today the Air Gun Club is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Taylorville with over 1,000 visitors per month!

Taylorville is a small town in McLean County, Illinois, United States. The population was 2,517 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Peoria, IL metropolitan area. The first settler in Taylorville was Elijah Hager on December 8, 1836. A post office called Taylorville was established in 1839, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1902. In 1847, Isaac Sumpter moved to Taylorville from North Carolina with his family and started a general store. He later became mayor of the town and served until his death in 1916. Other early settlers include George Waring (1850), John Cook (1851), Solomon Welles (1853), James Fenton (1854), Arthur Dyson (1855; died 1888), Sempronius Prentice (1857; died 1898), Reuben Hatch (1859-1912) and Daniel Farnsworth ( 1860). In 1886, two General Electric engineers coming from Northern Illinois decided to set up an electric power plant near Quincy, Illinois – one by Samuel Insull and the other by Alpheus Cutler – but they were unable to get financial support for their project so they abandoned it. However, when construction began on the new Quinnipiac University campus there were enough people associated with that location that they managed to keep alive the idea of electric power generation in Taylorville for many years after that failure. A post office called "Nabisco" was established at Taylorville on October 15th 1880 by Elisha Rockefeller Sr., son of Standard Oil founder Alcoa's president Cyrus Vail Jr.. Nabisco products arrived here through mailpackages from Buffalo New York via Taylorsville stage coach stop on September 9th 1880. The well-known rock band named after this postal stop played its first show at Nabisco Hall May 21st 1981 followed by local playwright Clifford Odets who wrote "City Lights" about life here during those days before he left for Hollywood early in 1982... In 1990s a large shopping center anchored by Sears & Roebuck opened just west of town off US Highway 6 which also serviced Nabisco hall as well as numerous other stores including several anchor tenant JB Hi-Fi's along with several movie theaters like Regal Cinemas DoubleTree hotel adjacent to Interstate 94 serving as both an entertainment complex as well as a major retail center for neighboring towns including Crystal City just east of town limits

Taylorville is a small town located in and around the city of Chicago, Illinois. It has been mentioned as one of the most "gentrified" neighborhoods in the city, with high-end shops and restaurants dotting its streets. The population was estimated to be around 10,000 residents at the time of the 1900 census, but has since dwindled to below 5,000 residents today. The area that now makes up Taylorville was first settled by Czech immigrants in 1848. They built a log cabin on what is now State Street. A post office was established in 1853, and by 1865 there were three stores and a few homes here. Growth came slowly until 1872 when railroad construction began through this area. The tracks led to an increased demand for goods bought from farmers near Chicago; thus two mills were erected on State Street - one called State Millinery Mills and the other called City Millinery Mills. By 1880 Taylorville had five stores and twelve housing units, all of which are gone today except for one building on State Street that still stands as a museum hosting artifacts from early American history. In 1902 local farmer Wm Haggerty donated land to build what would become known as South Side High School (now North Side High School). This school served students from Taylorville through 1955 when it moved to new facilities north of downtown Chicago after years of planning by then-Mayor John Quinn (D). At first only boys were admitted because enrollment at North Side High School had been limited due to space availability – until girls became eligible in 1927! Today South Side High School continues as one of the largest schools within Harrison Township public schools system serving 9th-12th grades across three campuses –grades K-8 located on West Seventy Second Street between Adams Boulevard and Roosevelt Road; grades 1-4 located on East Seventy Third Street just east of Ione Avenue;grades 5-8 located on Park Avenue between Addison Road and Cicero Road (north side campus) following an original offer made by then Superintendent Drury McNamara with funds provided by Illinois General Improvement Company president Harvey Mifflin (R).
Taylorville is located in the northwest corner of Illinois, on the border of Rush County and Calhoun County. The town was founded in 1837 by J.M. Taylor and others, as a result of the land grant from the United States to John Quincy Adams. It was named after General James K. Polk, who had settled in what is now Taylorville in 1845 while serving as military governor of Illinois during the US-Mexico War. The town grew rapidly following its incorporation as a village in 1881, becoming an agricultural center with large plantations and dairy farms. In 1944, Taylorville became one of three townships within Rush County created when that county was formed from parts of Calhoun and Rush counties.
