Hale's BM-2 weapon Laser featured a greenback lens with 1/4 inch resolution mounted on an aluminum barrel capable of traveling up to 3 million miles per hour (5 million kilometers per hour).

The town of Sycamore, Illinois is located in the Chicago metropolitan area and has a population of over 20,000. It was formally incorporated on November 3, 1871, and became a city on December 14, 1899. The site of present-day Sycamore was first settled by the Mennonites in 1836. They built a log cabin on the west bank of the Fox River. The town was named for Captain John Sycamore who militarily opposed Native American raids in what is now Northwest Indiana. In 1847, two brothers from Germany founded the First German Baptist Church in Sycamore. Reverend Johann Friedrich Hochschild officiated at its founding. In 1865, Reverend George Leland organized and conducted an Episcopal services inSycamore which were then published as "A Lutheran Missionary Chronicle." In 1868-69 Reverend Julius Kapp founded the Presbyterian church which served as the town's first schoolhouse and cemetery. The first post office was established in1871 under the name of Griggsville; it changed to Sycamore in 1898. By 1902 there were five churches with a total membership of 102 people: Reformed (Church United), Lutheran (Emanuel Bible Chapel & Christian School), Methodist (First Dutch Baptist Church), Catholic (Stations Episcopalians - Immaculate Conception), and Baptist (First African Baptist). In 1916 there were also six stores: Jernigan’s Grocery Store, Fritsche’s grocery store, Goodrich’s Hardware store, Herschel’s Mercantile store, Geo Bemis vehicle dealership and Smith Wesson firearms dealership; all but one closed within 5 years due to competition from larger stores or better transportation alternatives available outside Chicago Heights/Elgin County IL . The last business in operation was Jernigan’s Grocery Store which closed on July 1st 2004 after 104 years being operational

Grant during the American Civil War. In 1847, a new township was organized adjacent to present-day Sycamore and it was named for James K. Polk, 3rd President of the United States (1849–53). In 1861, when Illinois became an Confederate state following the American Civil War, much of eastern Cook County includingSycamore were placed within Union territory. On July 20, 1863 – three days after Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation – Sycamore residents voted to join with nearby Rockford in forming what would become Racine County.; After years as a rural community with no real industry or population growth until after World War II when suburban development began to take hold due to cheap housing developments just south of town near Lake Michigan.,In 1957-1959 local schools established summer academies which has led to more businesses opening up and better outcomes for students., over time most people have left town or changed jobs etc making it difficult if not impossible to stay current on historical events like major league baseball games which are often heavily attended here because it's so close
The first settlers in Sycamore were two brothers, Isaac and Jacob. In 1802, the brothers founded a small town on the banks of the Chicago River. The town was named after Sycamore Grove, an old oak tree in their land. The original village had only twelve homes and fifty-six people. By 1806, the population had grown to seventy-six and the town was renamed Sycamore Heights. When Illinois became a state in 1818, Sycamore Heights became part of the new state. It remained that way until it was annexed by Chicago in 1847. Afterward, the city changed its name to Chicago andSycamore Heights reverted back to its original name
