Laser sights are a type of sighting system used in firearms and other equipment to allow the user to aim an object with a laser pointer. The first uses light-emitting diodes (LEDs) as lasers, while later models use infrared or visible lasers. The use of laser sights began in the early 1970s when the US military was looking for a way to improve accuracy with rifles using night vision goggles. At that time, it was not yet possible to produce high-power lasers large enough to emit onto specialized eyeglasses mountable on rifles, so they were based on existing devices such as car headlights which generate short pulses of light that can be seen by someone wearing polarized glasses. In 1978, Bob Larkin developed a device which could project realistic aiming images onto contact lenses fitted over the eyes; this allowed users of precision rifles equipped with Laser Rangefinders (LRFs) to fire accurately at targets near or far away without having to adjust their optics. It wasn’t until after 9/11 that the widespread deployment of Laser Sight technology became possible thanks to advances in semiconductor lithography and 5G frequency band spectrum technology which have made it affordable and easier to manufacture components with multiplexed output from chips rather than individual LEDs. Based on these findings, commercial companies such as Aimpoint Inc., Leupold & Associates Inc., Bushnell Firearms Manufacturing Company and Vortex Optics Corporation entered into agreements with DARPA (NationalDefenseResearchand Development Agency) in order develop prototypes for battlefield applications such as target acquisition during air strikes or infantry assault operations against fortified positions. However, due primarily to financial reasons these projects were abandoned after only three rounds of development were completed between 1984 and 1988; all efforts focused on developing more advanced optic systems instead. This lack of interest may have been because current laser sight technologies are much more reliable than those used back then and many modern armies now rely heavily upon them for accurate weapon firing; moreover, newer technological developments like Longbow II platform offer greater capabilities still if enjoyed by soldiers who are not interested in upgrading their weaponry every year or two like some previous generations do

Summit, Illinois is a small village in Hancock County, Illinois, United States. The population was 598 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The Village of Summit was organized on November 12, 1892 from parts of Burr Ridge and the Town of Arlington Heights. The first post office in Summit opened on December 1, 1893. The village had a population of 612 as of the 2000 census. In 2007, Summit completed construction on a new $11 million library and sport facility that will serve the community until 2020. The library has an attached playground and tennis court that offer education opportunities to children living in or near Summit. In addition to its library functions, the new gymnasium also serves as the homecourt for local high school sports teams while they wait for their own building to be completed. It is not clear when or if this new building will be finished; however current plans call for it to open in fall 2018 at the earliest

On December 3rd 1886 it adopted its present name - Summit - after President George Washington's visit to that state on December 2nd that year. It has since been one of the most important towns in east central Illinois and has experienced significant economic growth due to its location near major highways and industry sites including Rush Street Shopping Center and Northwestern Illinois University.
