The first holsters made specifically for handgun protection were designed by a gentleman named John Weiland. Weiland created holsters specifically for Colt revolvers and other small-frame pistols. His designs became popular and he was soon able to sell his Holster Works company to Smith & Wesson. In the 1970s, holster designers started developing products specifically for concealed carry of assault rifles. This trend continued into the 1980s, with some companies starting to createholsters specificallyfor AR15 rifles. By the 1990s, most Concealed CarryHolster manufacturers had moved onto designs that incorporated various emergency cutoffs and retention systems in order to provide safe storage and transportation of firearms when not being used.
Summit is a town in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,752 at the 2000 census. Summit is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. It lies on the banks of the Chicago River near the Illinois-Indiana border. The first known inhabitants of what is now Summit were two groups of Illini Indians who lived there before 1818 when they were pushed out by the US government as part of the Treaty of Fort Dearborn. In 1829, David Rice and his party founded a trading post on land that would later be named Summit after him. In 1840, another group of Illini Indians moved to this area from central Illinois and built a cabin and store here. They also continued to trade with other tribes across the river inland. On July 4, 1847, white men from Galena (now Galena Heights), Indiana arrived at what would become Summit during a fur trade expedition led by George Washington Stephenson for General David Dixon after Tecumseh's Rebellion had broken out in Canada. Dixon took possession of parts of present-day Kane County and organized it into four counties: Cook County on the north side of Chicago; Johnson County on the east side; La Salle County on the south side; and McLean County on its southern extremity bordering Rock Island county in Illinois proper – all within Limits set forth by Congress under section 12(a) (3) (A) of The Indiana Constitution as follows: "That no person alien or naturalized herein shall hold any seat or vote therein save such as may be legally entitled thereto according to law." Bevan Pease became first White settler in Summit Township when he purchased one hundred acres southwest corner lot number 6 from John Atherton for $25 during early 1830s followed by many others over time including Jno Dickey who bought 640 acres adjoining #6 from Bevan Pease around 1840/41 same year coal mine opened & soon smelting operations began producing coal which fueled local mills & businesses including one owned & run by Elisha Dickinson supplying Akron Steel Works with coals until 1918

On July 4, 1847, the first day of the Illinois statehood process, a group of men and women gathered at the Creston Springs Hotel in Summit to lay the cornerstone for a new statehouse. The new capitol was completed in 1868 and soon became an important center of government in Illinois.
