The first gun lights were used by the U.S. Cavalry in 1868. The first pistols also had theselights, but they were not practical for use with a rifle as they required an extra light source to be visible at all times while shooting. A second type of gun light was created in 1907 by John Prentice Murdoch, which consisted of two small mirrors placed on either side of the barrel and aimed at the target. This served as a muzzleloader sights system and allowed accurate fire from long distances without the need for additional light sources

Sterling, Illinois is a small town in Jefferson County, Illinois. The population was 1,822 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Jefferson County. Sterling was founded in 1833 and incorporated as a village in 1874. The current name of Sterling comes from the original plat for the village which was filed with the government on October 16, 1834. The plat named "Sterling" after Samuel Sterling, one of its founders. The first post office in Sterling was established on November 15, 1836. On July 8, 1840, it changed its name to "Jefferson". In 1857-1858 it had an population of 304; this number increased to 514 when it became a town. On March 3rd 1865, voters passed a resolution ratifying Unionist sentiments prevalent during the American Civil War andset up an election for Township trustees that same year. Two residents were elected by vote and John Fitch served as Township Clerk from 1865 until his death on December 13th 1886; George Prentice served as Trustee from 1886 until his death on January 7th 1902 In 1916-1917 Sterling experienced World War I when over two hundred local residents volunteered to serve in France On September 25th 1927 USPS announced they would be moving their operations out of Chicago's Dirksen Terminal into what would become known as Headquarters Building (now known as United Parcel Service) across State Street from City Hall due to financial pressures and competition with UPS and FedEx services offered by those facilities at that time Residents voted on February 4th 1928 to incorporate as a village with a Mayor/Council position instead of having Village President serving simultaneously with all other officers Consequently only Property tax collection took place through Village Manager while all other municipal functions were handled by City Manager . This change provided more autonomy for villagers but also made it easier for City management since there were now three layers of governance within one community
There is a long and proud history of gun lights in the United States. Gun lights have been used to warn other drivers of oncoming traffic, to signal for help, and even as simple toys for children. In some cases, gun lights have even been used as weapons themselves! Gun lights first appeared on American cars in the late 1920s. At first, they were designed only to indicate to other drivers that the vehicle was stopped at a yellow light; however, over time they became more common and began being used as signals for other purposes. In 1938, The National Firearms Act (NFA) was passed which made it illegal to possess any firearm without a license. This law caused many people in America to arm themselves with automatic firearms- something that would not have been possible had guns still been restricted by state governments. As soon as the NFA went into effect, gunlights started appearing all over America. Many different manufacturers produced them at this time- including Fred Waring & Sons of Buffalo, New York and HIllman Manufacturing Company of Springfield Massachusetts. These companies created both small handguns and larger rifles fitted with light bulbs or reflectors mounted on either side of the barrel. At first these light bulbs were powered by battery power but eventually progressed towards using electricity directly from batteries (usually 6 volts). This allowed for much more powerful light sources and made GUN LIGHTS MUCH MORE VISIBLE AS THEY CAME INTO USE! Today there are many different types of gun lights available on the market- from those that use rechargeable batteries to those that use AC power (which can be controlled through an Arduino controller). The early gunsights used a lighted window on the barrel of the weapon to guide the shooter, but this was not practical for everyday use. In 1879, French inventor Georges-Jacques Conte invented a lighted sighting device which allowed shooters to aim their weapons at a target without having to see it directly. This led to the development of gun sights and later optics which allow people to aiming firearms with ease.
Sterling was founded in 1871 by two men, Lucius Sterling and Solomon H. Glass. The town was named for the sterling silver coins that were then being produced in Illinois. The first store opened in 1872, and soon after, the town began to grow. In 1878, a post office was established at Sterling, and later that year, a school was built. In 1880, a railroad station was built in town and the population of Sterling grew rapidly. By 1890, the town had over 100 residents and boasted a jail and two churches. The economy of Sterling fluctuated during the late 1800s but eventually stabilized around 1900-1910 thanks to its growing population and industry. In 1915-16, when World War I started, Sterling quickly became one of the most affluent communities in Illinois due to its large concentration of munitions manufacturers. However, during World War II it experienced significant reductions in business activity as local production shifted to other states due to wartime shortages. After the war ended in 1945, much of sterling's manufacturing base closed down or relocated to other countries while overall economic conditions deteriorated throughout the postwar period. However, following an infusion of new investment into the community during the 1990s through revitalization efforts such as infill development and urban farming projects (Walsh et al., 2016), Sterling has regained some stability since 2000-2010 despite remaining relatively small geographically compared with many neighboring townships across Cook County (Lees & Kieseler; see also: Kaneohe Borough website). Sterling is located on State Route 5 south of Machesney Park along Lake Michigan shoreline about 14 miles east of Chicago off US 41/48 north of Peoria Heights on state route 6 west from Iroquois Avenue just east of Cicero Avenue (see map). According to 2010 census data,[1] there are 997 people residing within ZIP code 60611 who identify as "Hispanic/Latino" according to racial identification software.[2] As shown on Figure 1A below,[3] although white 80% majorities exist throughout most populated zip codes within this 562 sq mi area surrounding lake Michigan shoreline including sterling[4], black populations have increased significantly nearshore over recent decades living mainly near docks used for shipping container traffic which may impact their access to inland jobs opportunities away from hostile waterfront environments (Goudreau & Purdy; see http://www2aassets3forsoundingscienceandtechnologymagazinearticlearchivecom/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2018/01/web1_goudreau_purdy1_.jpg) The demography changes along shoreline - black rates increase near docks while whites decrease distance from docks 0% caucasianAmericans only 3%
