Steger, Illinois became a center of firearm manufacture and sales in the early 1800s. The first firearms made in Steger were pistols and rifles. By 1851, machineguns had become popular in America, so firearms manufacturers set up shop in SteGER to produce these new machines. In the late 1800s, SteGER also became home to the world's first gunsmithing school.
Steger is a small town in McLean County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,972 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. Steger is known for its apple orchards and other fruit crops. The first people to live in Steger were German immigrants who came overland from Bavaria in 1828. They erected a log cabin on the edge of what is now Steger High School. A post office was established in 1837, and by 1840 there were six families living in Steger. By 1860, there were twenty-four families living here. In 1868, native born Revs John Dutton and James Ladd founded the Baptist Church in Steger with twelve members. Reverend Dutton served as pastor from 1868 to 1888 and then became president of Elmira College from 1889 until his death in 1902. In 1863, David Haskell built a gristmill on an island near present day Griggs Road/Upton Road playing a significant role in early community life and development hereabouts as well as providing feed for local livestock which sustained early residents during times when corn could not be grown nearby due to lack of quality land or unfavorable weather conditions etcetera In 1865 Isaac Brown married Harriett Sprague (1824 - 1913) daughter of Amos Sprague (1792 – 1861), one of pioneers who had come to this area some time before with his family originallly from Lancaster County PA . Mrs Sprague was born January 16th 1794 at New Castle Township near Yorktown Heights NY . They raised six children together; three girls died young: Elizabeth (baptized October 3rd 1800), Anna (baptized December 5th 1802) and Catharine(baptised March 12th 1804). Anna survived infancy but Catharine did not until sometime after her late mother's death… After many years spent among their numerous kinfolks back eastliving acres awayfrom homeHarriette finally met someone she wanted to marry & started packing up her things Septemberend1886 when Rev J Dutton moved into new Pastor's House located just around corner from old churchHPbasketball arena today On October 20th 1886 Harriet married Rev J Dutton aka “Doc” #2 & took their first steps west into history 🙂 As if that wasn't enough Pioneers still continue making an impact everyday such as George Beaird who has beenng driving truckloads of gravel every day for about 25yrs now & his grandson Bradley continues doing it too 😃 God Bless them all!

As Pistolero pointed out (pamphlet #3), “t-shirt printing [was] not only regional but also sectarian; each region had its own favorite printers and shirtmakers who specialized in making just for their area” (emphasis mine). This meant that there were various different types and styles of firearm t- shirts available on the market at different times. In addition, there were also variations between states because local laws differed on how firearms could be possessed or transported. As a result, shirts featuring specific state brands or models often became popular amongst shooters from different regions. Gun culture continuously grew with pistols becoming more common within society and gun enthusiasts starting to wear branded clothing associated with their hobby (e.g., Colt magazines). With so much movement happening around firearms during this period, it was no surprise that shirt printing began popping up all over again as well – specifically within western towns like Las Vegas and Los Angeles where shootings occurred frequently (Galloway & Smith 2001). By the 1930s however, things had changed dramatically with both weapons and fashion trends moving towards post-war Americaa conservatism (Koch 2009). This shift towards stricter gun control laws led manufacturers to start producing fewer handguns – meaning that t-shirts featuring these devices became less frequent across the board . Instead, slogans like “I am a Second Amendment citizen” replaced “Pistolero Proud” on many firearm shirts throughout this era (Dillon 2002). This lack of availability wasn’t limited to just American shooters though; similar trends emerged abroad as well(Lincoln 2003). For example, Britain soon after World War II started using licensing schemes called “ Gentleman's Agreement ,” which allowed companies such as H&R Block Ltd.(a manufacturer of rifles) access to high demand rifle designs by American manufacturers (Flamm 1998: xiii ). As a result of this trend developing overseas throughout the late 1940s until very recently – firearm t-shirts have always been an integral part of shooterculture!

In 1925, Granite City merged with other towns in McLean County to form Steger-Mallory-Logan Township and later Granite City-Steger Township. In 2002, the Granite City business district closed down due to economic difficulties; it had been losing customers to other businesses in Springfield and Carbondale areas that had opened up around it during that time period. Since then, there have been occasional efforts to revive the town by hosting events like ArtPrizes or music festivals but these have generally failed to take off because of low attendance or lack of support from local leaders who see them as a drain on their resources rather than an opportunity for growth and prosperity for SteGER residents
