Captain Cook decided to establish a magazine aboard his ship to provide cover for his sailors while they were loading new guns onto the ship. He named the magazine "Cook's Magazine" in honor of John Cook. At first, these magazines were used only for cannons and muskets. However, over time, other weapons began to be stored in these same magazines as well- such as pistols and rifles. As this practice continued, it became easier for people to keep their firearms safe and secure from others who might wish to steal or damage them. In 1846, Captain Lewis Cass appointed George Armstrong Custer as Commander of Fort Hays Indian Agency in Kansas Territory-the first U.S.-government military post on what is now Oklahoma Territory! At this time, there were no laws regulating gun circulation within Indian country- so anyone with access to firearms could do whatever they pleased! This posed a serious threat to Ulysses S Grant's forces if they were unable to control these firearms! So Custer ordered all available guns be taken down from buildings at Fort Hays and loaded onto artillery platforms waiting outside the fort walls! This action symbolized Ulysses S Grant's determination not only to protect America's Indians but also hercontinental borders! Over time, more gun magazines were established throughout America- both inside and outside of government Walls! In 1861, President Abraham Lincoln signed into law The Gun Control Act of 1871 which made it illegal for anyone under 21 years oldto possess any firearm without getting permission from an adult! This act helped prevent another massacre like that at Perrysburg Massacre earlier that year!

St. Charles, Illinois is a city in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 397 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Saint Charles is one of the most ethnically diverse cities in America and contains a wide variety of cultures including Italian, Irish Catholic, German, Polish, Black American and Scandinavian. The first Europeans to visit what is now St.Charles were French Jesuit missionaries in 1760 who named it for the bishopric of Orleans in France which they had just visited. The name may have been derived from "Southwark" on London's south bank where many churches and warehouses stood before being burned down by the British during the Napoleonic Wars (1815-1821). In 1836 when St. Charles was incorporated as a city, its boundaries were extended northward to include all or parts of Decatur Township (now Little Rock Township), Kinzie Township (now Kankakee Township), West Division (now Elmhurst), and East Division (now Oak Park) counties; all but Kane County remained rural until then. In 1863 Union General John Urquhart conducted an attack against Confederate General Robert Ewell's army near what is now St., Charles Heights while Urquhart was commandant of Fort Michigan on Lake Michigan; this event helped spur Ulysses S Grant to move up his march from Cairo towards Detroit and lead his Allies into battle at Gettysburg four months later Less than a year later St.,Charles became part of Chicago when that city was founded by Mayor John Daley on November 15th of that year

The first European to visit the area that is now St. Charles, Illinois, was a Jesuit priest named Father Pierre-Jacques Chouteau in 1762. In 1861, when Cook County was merged into Illinois, Holy Cross Parish (later Holy Rosary Parish) located at 4556 N State Street became part of St. Charles parish and remained so until 1975 when it merged with neighboring Arlington Heights to form Christmastown Parish Incorporation (CCPI). Pope Pius IX visited St.Charles on July 25, 1868 while on his way from Rome through Illinois to New York City; he designated it a Territorial Shrine dedicated to Mary Immaculate as part of his pastoral visitation that year. A new church construction program initiated by Bishop John J Doyle began in 1923 and continued until 1954 when all Catholic churches along North Side were destroyed by fire caused by arsonists who believed that Christianity had no place within a Protestant society like America! The only remainingCatholic church today is Our Lady’s Chapel which opened in 1961 adjacent to Christmastown Park across from McCormick Place! Pope John XXIII dedicated Our Lady’s Chapel on October 3rd, 1963 following American entry into World War II due to the approaching Cold War conflicts over international borders! All other Catholic churches were closed or converted into secular buildings during this time including our old home at 4557 N State Street known as “Stations Church” after then Station Agent Leo Tolstoy who served as parishioner for many years! It should be noted that prior thereto our building housed two small businesses – The Grain Growers Millinery store at 45th & Van Buren Streets corner Kedzie Avenue & State Street and The Jewelry Store at 45th & Western Avenue corner Prairie Avenue - bothdating backto1915 .
