Bullets in Springfield, Illinois date back to 1868. At that time, the city was known as Chicago and the bullet was known as a “chicken-feathered missile” because it had a wingspan of only 2 inches. In 1892, Springfield became the first municipality in Illinois to adopt an ordinance regulating firearms. This ordinance limited the number of bullets per magazine to 10 and required that all ammunition be kept in a locked container. The ordinance also prohibited handguns from being carried into any public place without first getting prior consent from the police officer who would be monitoring the area. In 1938, Springfield became one of 14 municipalities in Illinois to adopt an ordinance banning possession of automatic weapons by civilians. This law went into effect on January 1, 1939 and barred citizens from owning or possessing any automatic weapons with a barrel length over 5 feet. In 1949, Springfield adopted an ordinance prohibiting handgun possession by individuals under 21 years old. This law went into effect on July 1, 1949 and continued to prohibit handguns until December 31st of every year. In 1974, Springfield passed an ordinance regulations increasing the Capacity for magazines for rifles from 5 rounds to 15 rounds and for pistols from 3 rounds to 8 rounds. The amendment also increased penalties for violating these ordinances. The City Council passed another ordinance regulation increasing the capacity of ammunition drums by 50 percent on November 8th of 1985 which took effect on December 1st 1985 . It should be noted that this amendment did not increase THE CAPACITY OF AMMO DUMBS BUT DID INCREASE THE COUNT OF DISCOUNTS FROM ANIMAL SHELLS THAT WERE PROVIDED TO OWNERS OF BULLET RIFLE MAGAZINES WITH A EXTENDED CAPACITY PURCHASED BEFORE NOVEMBER 8TH 1985

The city of Springfield, Illinois is located in the eastern section of the state of Illinois. The population was 131,871 at the 2010 census. It is one of the five cities in Cook County. The City of Springfield was founded on May 20th, 1838 by businessman and politician Daniel Boone. The first post office in Springfield was established on December 12th, 1839. The current mayor is Lisa Madigan and the City Council is made up of 11 members with two vacancies left open as a result of retirements or death since November 2008. Springfield's rich history can be traced back to its establishment as a small town on the banks of the Sangamon River in 1837. At that time, it was one of several towns along the river that were developed as part of what would become known as "the Western Territory". This area had been purchased by General David Dixon from Native Americans in 1795 and became part-time British territory during Queen Anne's War (1759-63). In 1798, Congress passed an act providing for a permanent government for these territories which included Springfield Township. On January 1st, 1800, Abraham Lincoln was sworn into office as President of the United States after winning a close election against Federalist candidate James K. Polk. Lincoln appointed John Pangle to serve as Deputy Marshal for Douglas County and quickly began to make changes within the fledgling governmental structure including appointing justices to local courts and developing laws regarding education and trade regulations among other topics. From this point forward, Springfield grew rapidly with new residents moving into what would become known as "The Village". One such resident was Captain John Fitch who arrived in1838 after having served with distinction in numerous wars including those fought by Ulysses S Grant during his presidency (1865-68). He built himself an impressive home near First Street and State Road(now US Highway 23) which still stands today – becoming one of many notable individuals associated with this early period in Springfield's history. During World War II, much effort went into manufacturing munitions at nearby Carbondale while also manufacturing items necessary for military use such as clothing and vehicles; most notably aircraft parts used on V-2 rockets which killed over 160 people when they exploded over England on July 20th 1945! A large steel plant called Motorola Corporation was also built adjacent to Interstate 95 southbound just east of downtown which continued operations until 2000! In addition to manufacturing activities taking place within downtown Springfield boundaries during this time period there were also significant developments occurring outside – primarily around Interstate 94 northbound where an interstate highway replaced old roadways leading from rural areas into town centers throughout central Illinois! This project involved construction not onlyof expressways but alsoof arterial streets connecting larger communities throughout central Illinois making life more convenient for commuters! As another key component relatedto this interstate highway project were massive transportation investments being made throughout southern Illinois resultingin increased demand for goods and services available within localized neighborhoods! These days you can find many businesses serving locals or shoppers within walking distance both inside & outside downtown Springfield!!! Today's economy has played a major role in continuing growth within downtown Springfield; there are now multiple restaurants & cafes dotting every inch OF Main Street !!!
