Scope mounts are a type of mount for rifles that allow the rifle to be aimed at a particular point in space. The earliest scope mounts were designed to hold onto the barrel and use a sling to carry the rifle around, but more recent designs have been created that can be attached directly to the rifle's receiver. Before Scope Mounts became popular, many people used telescopes as sniper rifles because they could not hold onto the barrel and needed a way to aim them securely. Some of the first scope mounts were invented by Nicholas-Jacques Conte in 1799. However, it was not until 1864 when George Stephenson developed and patented an attachment system for shotguns called Stephenson’s Gunlifter which allowed gunsights on shotguns. Scope mounts have also come in different shapes and sizes over time including square, round, Vertical Integration (VI), Monopod (MV),and swivel type mounts. Scope mounts are devices that allow the shooting of firearms from a variety of distances. The purpose of a scope mount is to adjust the aim of a firearm so that it will be in line with the target at all times, whether the shooter is behind or in front of the weapon. An optic mount consists of an eyepiece (or viewing element) and a mounting bracket. In 1916, the South Elgin, Illinois chapter of the American Legion was organized. That year, they erected a large, red and white pentagon-shaped monument in honor of local veterans. The first expansion for this monument took place in 1936 when the Legion erected a second large monument on the same site. This new monument was dedicated to all soldiers from World War I who had served in that conflict. In 1951, a third large Monument was added to this location in memory of all soldiers from World War II who had served in that conflict.

South Elgin, Illinois is a city in central Illinois and the county seat of Elgin County. The population was 27,782 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Driftless Area National Lakeshore and has a humid continental climate. The town was founded by Fenton Dixon in 1833 as a stopping place for stagecoaches between Chicago and other points north. Dixon named it South Elgin because he found an elm tree near the intersection of South Wentworth Avenue and North Walnut Street. The first post office opened in 1834. In 1839, Dixon donated land to form what is now Elmhurst Cemetery. In 1847, the Illinois Central Railroad built tracks through town, bringing new residents and businesses to South Elgin. The railroad also helped develop the local economy by providing jobs for local farmers and lumbermen. After World War II, industry declined in South Elgin but new development began to increase in the 1990s with the arrival of high-tech companies such as Intel Xeon Processor Laboratory (Intel XPL) and Motorola Solutions Incorporated (MSI). Scope mounts history is a long and detailed topic, but it's important to understand the basics. In order to mount optics on rifles, there were two basic methods: Weaver sights and military mounts. Weaver sights were designed for use with specific barrels or receivers, while military mounts allowed mounting of different types of optics onto different weapons. The first scope mount was developed in 1892 by George Armstrong Custer and was used on his Indian Wars battlefield rifle, the Dakota. This type of mount allowed the user to adjust magnification and sight in targets at a distance without having to remove the barrel from the rifle. A later version of this mount was used on the American Rifle in 1903 by John Marlin. This type of mount allowed users to adjust elevation and windage using adjustable screwsdriver devices which are still common today. After World War I, Americans began looking for new ways to attach optics onto their rifles. One idea was to create an all-metal device that would secure an optic onto the barrel (the early days of iron sights). Another idea was to use a dovetail system which would allow multiple pieces of optic hardware (dials, turrets etc.)to be screwed into place on different parts of the rifle receiver (this became known as a “Militaire”mount). Eventually, both these ideas were abandoned because they were too difficult or time consuming to implement successfully. In 1939, German engineer Dr.-Ingo Schmidt designed what is now considered one of the most successful Scope Mounts ever created when he created the Schmidt coneor bipod/base system for Infantry Weapons [1]. Simply stated, this system allowed attachment and removal of various optical accessories without disassembly or damage! The Schmidt coneor bipod/base system remained popular through World War II until it was replaced by other systems such as NATO’s MILITARY COMPOSITE SYSTEMS magazine well clamping Devices [2], those used today continue its popularity even after over 50 years!

The history of expandable mount systems goes back to the early days of computing. In 1969, IBM developed a device called an "extendable memory card," which allowed users to add more storage to their computers by purchasing extra cards. The technology was later adapted and used in the creation of personal computers, such as the Apple II and Commodore 64.

South Elgin, Illinois was once a thriving town that enjoyed a large population. Today, it is a census-designated place (CDP) with a total population of just over 12,000. The town’s heyday came in the late 1800s and early 1900s when it was one of the most important localities in the area. Unfortunately, all this prosperity came at a cost: during his time as mayor (1901-1902), John Leland experienced several financial scandals which led him to lose public support. These events did much damage to South Elgin’s reputation and eventually led to its decline over time. Today, however, there are still some vestiges of former glory left behind in South Elgin – such as its growing population Of African descent (which has helped keep it relatively racially diverse) and its rich history both before and after World War II. Much like other struggling towns throughout Illinois today, though, South Elgin will need to work hard if it wants remain an economically vibrant community longterm; but if it does manage to stay afloat through these tough times then it may well have won something special…
