NRA became known as the “ Gun Ownership Institute” after this law went into effect! In 1935, Japanese soldiers invaded China and began bombing major cities with airplanes!!! Many people died as a result of this attack!!! In 1937, Germany invaded France!!! Many people died as a result of this attack!!! In 1938, Japan announced plans to create an empire within China!!! This caused great uproar throughout the world!!!!!!!!! In 1939–1940 European allies invaded Norway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In 1884, the town became a village when it merged with two other townships to form Highland Park Township. In 1912, it absorbed neighbouring Decatur Township into its municipal limits; this made it one of the last municipalities to be merged into Cook County during its creation as a result of countywide consolidation under President Woodrow Wilson's New Deal program. On July 1, 1948 Shiloh incorporated as a city under state law following an effort by local officials to improve public services within their boundaries despite lack of tax base or political support locally. At that time only 6 out of 95 counties in Illinois were still operating as townships with separate government entities; all but three had been consolidated into Cook County since 1900 through various methods including land acquisition or annexation/cantonization).
