Schiller Park is a small town located in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Illinois, just south of St. Louis. It was founded in 1871 by John Schiller, an entrepreneur and member of the Ohio-based Gentry family who had interests in real estate and banking. The town rapidly grew due to its location near important railroads, as well as its rich agricultural history. By 1920, Schiller Park had over 2,000 residents and was considered one of the most prosperous towns in the region. Today, it remains a popular tourist destination with its beautiful architecture and picturesque setting. John Schiller's original idea for Schiller Park came about when he realized that his railroad ties were not being used to build roads in his town. He brainstormed with his friend Daniel Hanna how they could use their ties to create a new park which would be perfect for entertainment and relaxation purposes. The first phase of development occurred between 1871 and 1872; this involved building a few churches, public square, schools, and other infrastructure needed for village growth. The second phase took place from 1872-1875; this involved adding more amenities such as baseball fields, playgrounds, swimming pools (the only one at that time), a library/museum/gallery complex (built by local philanthropist Augustus Root),and several residences for farmers nearby who wished to sell their land within easy distance of Schiller Park Village proper - all while still remaining within commuting range for locals. During this time period as well there were some significant changes taking place within American society - especially outside Chicago where John Schillers son Franklin became Mayor after defeating incumbent George Biddle in 1874 election - which led to increased visitation rates at the park both during leisure activities like fishing or swimming but also during business meetings or events where people wanted access to beautiful country side scenery without having to leave their comfortable homes! In 1888 when John Schiller died suddenly aged 74 years old his son followed suit two years later becoming John Farragut III America's 15th President (serving from 1889 until 1893). After Farragut's death on April 14th 1895 another succession battle ensued with James Molineaux becoming interim president until 1898 before Julius Rosenwald took office making him sole president until 1913 when World War I intervened causing Rosenwald's death leaving Alice Paul Simpson as acting president until 1919 when she was succeeded by Herbert Hoover who continued her policy throughout World War II!
