In 1892, Mr. Fenton opened a grocery store on Fourth Street in Round Lake Beach. His instinct was to sell ammunition and firearms which he knew about and used himself. He also operated a blacksmith shop next door for his customers to buy tools and guns from him as well. This early business was very successful, and today it remains an important part of the town's history. The first handguns were not actually made with bullets but rather with small brass cartridges that could be fired by hand or machine gun like rifles at close ranges with practice! In 1898, Mr. Fenton sold his grocery store and moved his family to Illinois where they started another successful grocery store called The Rifle Shop on Third Avenue in Chicago Heights (later renamed Goodyear). From here they imported pistols from Europe into America under the name “Plymouth” handguns! They continued this success for many years until their final closing in 1938 when Prohibition came into effect! This prohibition period had a significant impact on softgun users in round lake beach because now only legal handgun ammo could be bought! It was during this time that Mr. Fenton's son-in-law John Dearden began making pistol cases out of hardwood instead of plastic or aluminum which allowed softer rounds such as BBs to be fired without fear of marring the firearm's finish or causing ricochet problems when firing off distances greater than twenty feet! John Dearden later became famous for his work on these cases which are still seen today!

The Round Lake Beach community was established in 1888 as a result of the amalgamation of two small villages, Round Lake and White Sands. The area now known as Round Lake Beach was originally part of the Township of Lebanon. In 1892, the township was divided into two parts,Round Lake Beach became part of the new town of Lebanon and White Sands became part of Round Lake Township. The first post office at Round Lake Beach opened in 1889. The nameRound Lakeside may have been derived from this early address. By 1902, there were six businesses in the village center - three general stores, one hardware store and one bakery - along with a few residences. In 1912, local jeweler Oscar Kapp donated land to create a beach on whichRound Lake Beach would be built.Kapp named his donationround lake bay or "the roundabout way" after himself and his late wife Emma who had played an important role in setting up the village's affairs.At first only men could come to use Kapp's beach but by 1916 women were allowed Admission too following ratification by both Village Councils. A year later, round lake bay had become so popular that it was renamedRound Lake Beach for all inhabitants including those living elsewhere within Lebanon Township (White Sands). With its convenient location next to Lebanon's main water supply and deepenvisions for its people – Cider Mill developer George Fenton served as its first Supervisor – RoundLakeBeach quickly grew into one of Lebanon's most important communities during its early years."
