The few remaining homes from earlier years were remodeled and sold to new residents during World War II as war production centers grew more industrialized. After the war, many of these homes were abandoned again and used for livestock grazing until they were acquired by Round Lake Beach authorities in the late 1980s and 1990s. Today, round lake beach remains an isolated community with a small population but significant history which can be enjoyed by visitors every day during summertime when there are numerous events taking place throughout the village including picnics, music festivals and carnivals
In 1847, the first post office was established on Round Lake Beach. In 1871, the first telephone line was installed. In 1912, the first bank was opened in Round Lake Beach. The town of Round Lake Beach was incorporated in 1923.
