Romeoville is a village in Mahoning County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The village was founded by Levi Rome in 1824 and named after his father-in-law, Julius Caesar Romanus (1793–1856), who had settled there in 1816. Romeoville became an unincorporated community on July 24, 1881, when it amalgamated with several other villages in Mahoning County to form the Dayton Township of Romeoville. On March 12, 1907, the township was divided into two parts – one continuing as Romeoville and the other becoming Powell Township. The Village of Romeoville attained its present boundaries on December 3, 2002 when it merged with neighbouring Moreland Township to form a new municipality. Romeoville has a rich agricultural history dating back to before European settlement ever arrived hereabouts. In 1792 surveyors found Native American graves near what is now the interchange between I-675 and US-40; these were later know as Pigeon Hill Cemetery and are still used today for that purpose. There are also remains of early settlers that can be seen at various locations throughout this area including along US-41 just north of town center which may date back to as early as 1795 or even earlier! In fact large portions of what is now downtown were laid out specifically around small streams that ran through rural areas like this until Dodge street got built up around them sometime later! A few miles east from downtown lay another creek known locally as Beavercreek Creek which served as a transportation corridor for goods coming into town from surrounding farms all along its length! Even today certain streets within downtown remain lined with cultivation :-) One such location is Main Street running southeast from Beavercreek Creek towards town hall where numerous pioneer homes once stood - evidence that farming did not go away easily some 250 years ago!!! As if things didn’t have enough excitement here already...the arrival of automobiles really kicked things into high gear starting in about 1920 when automobile travel began becoming more common! Today we enjoy many days out during summertime just driving around our beautiful little village looking at all those neathistoric buildings &Oldtimers residences close by!

Romeoville is a small town in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,531 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago–Naperville–Joliet Metropolitan Statistical Area. Romeoville was founded in 1868 by John Rome and his brothers Nicholas and Peter Rome. The first post office in Romeoville opened on October 9, 1868. The name "Romeoville" originated from John Rome's brother-in-law George Romulus who named a settlement near Romeoville after himself. John Rome died in 1865 and his sons Nicholas and Peter took over management of the business. They were also responsible for developing many aspects of Romaniville's early economy including manufacturing goods such as boots and saddles, selling land to settlers, and building schools and churches. In 1899, the family sold their interest in the business to Julius Caesar Snyder with whom they had been associated since 1870. Julius Caesar Snyder II continued the family tradition of running the business until he passed away in 1984 without children benevolently managing it thereafter which left it to his sister Mildred Snyder Shearer to run it until her death on December 4th 2006 aged 90 years old. Walking through downtown Romeoville today one can see evidence that this small town has always played an important role in its surrounding community: From stores along Main Street all the way up Cathedral Ridge you can find items like chickens (the local grocery store offers fresh eggs daily), milk pails full of ice cream from one of two ice cream vans located next door (one during summertime), pies from MrsMick's Bakery & Pie Shop on Union street; hats from Harry's Hats on Adams street; candy bars from Gizmo's candy store just across Main Street; cigarettes from MrSmokeyBars right down at the riverbank; wine bottles dating back to prohibition days (a few still have their cork!) all side by side waiting for someone interested in buying them! Italian immigrant Michele Rizzuto ran one of Kane County’s first pizza parlors called “Pizza Hut” active primarily throughout Cicero/Niles Township until he closed shop around 1987 when law changed making doing so a crime punishable by five years imprisonment... Today there are several cafe’s open within walking distance including Starbucks Coffee House located just east off I-88 Exit 214A minutes walk or Home Baked Goods & Donuts located just southwest corner US Hwy 12& highway exit number 138E minutes walk both serve delicious breakfast Burberry Cafe (& adjoining burrito restaurant) across US HWY 12 about 5 miles north also serves delicious breakfast several times a week Stritch Bakery Offline map Google map - bakery started serving pancakes back when Route 66 was still operational 2 blocks east off 159th Street served up yummy food most commonly Weiser Farms products before WW2 ending operations Dec 2003
Romeoville was a small community in Clay County, Illinois, United States. It developed around the Roman Catholic church, which was built in 1878. The community disbanded after World War II.
