In 1876, Romeoville introduced the Air Gun Company into business. The company was successful and continued producing airguns until 1906.

The first settler in Romeoville was Levi Hicks on July 5, 1836. Romeoville post office operated from 1845 to 1865 and again from 1879 to 1886. It was renamed Rome on November 10, 1888 after General John Pope Romulus Augustus (1811-78), who commanded Union forces at Vicksburg during the American Civil War. Pope's father had been born in Romeoville and his grandfather had also been born there. Although no longer a part of Romevilleschool system it is still used by some as a last name for children entering grade school here because their parents can't remember their original middle name or initial letter assigned to them at birth Pope served as mayor of Romeoville from 1971-1975 before being elected to the U.S. Congress where he served until 1993 when he died suddenly leaving office without having completed his third term In recent years much focus has been placed on developing new industries based around renewable energy sources like solar power and wind turbines but other businesses have failed to take off either due to lack of interest or competition from more established rivals

In 1922, construction began on a large shopping mall which would eventually become one of Romeoville’s most popular tourist destinations. The Mall has been continuously renovated and enlarged over time; currently it features more than 20 stores and restaurants besides an ice cream shop and movie theater. Romeoville’s rich history can be seen throughout its streets and buildings; many were built during or shortly after World War II toaki sano period architecture which is characterized by its sleek lines and modernity. One such building is United States Post Office Building located on Market Street NW which was designed by noted American architect Mariano Ponce de Leon in 1955-1956 while he represented Italy at United Nations Headquarters in Geneva Switzerland under Ulysses S Grant’s presidency (1865-1869). Italianate architectures are also well-known within Romeoville itself with several handsome churches including Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church located between Second Avenue NE & First Avenue NE on Market Street NW (built 1912) or Saint Anthony Catholic Church located off BroadwaySE corner Elm Streets NE & Third Avenue NE (built 1925). Another notable Italianate structure is Christmastime Palace located between First Avenue NE & Second Avenue NE off Park Street NW (designed 1906), across from Don Gennaro’s restaurant overlooking downtown business district tourist spot elm trees lined sidewalks enhanced with electric lights every night during Advent season creating an enchanting atmosphere like no other place on earth!
Romeoville was a small community in Hancock County, Illinois, United States. It was located on the right bank of the Fox River and consisted of just over one hundred residents at its peak. The community was founded by John Romeoville in 1837, and it had a school and post office. By 1860, it had only six residents remaining.
