In 1881, an immigrant named Nicholas Maloney came to Riverdale and started a shooting range. In 1916, the Maloney Shooting Club was founded by John Hickey and became the first major indoor shooting club in the city. The range continued to be run by the Maloney family until it closed in 1978. A new range opened up on West Side Avenue inRiverdale in 1984 and continues to be used today. The Riverdale Shooting Club was one of the earliest indoor ranges in Illinois, being established in 1881. It operated out of a building on West Side Avenue until 1978 when it moved to its current location on South Magnolia Avenue. The Riverdale Shooting Club is one of the few remaining indoor ranges in Chicago that still uses traditional shotguns for target shooting. It is also home to one of the oldest steel-reinforced targets around, dating back to 1915.

Riverdale is a small town in Illinois. It is known for its large and popular creek, the Riverdale Creek. The town also has one of the most beautiful gazebos in Illinois, as well as several farms that produce everything from crops to livestock. The first people to live in Riverdale were Native Americans. They built their own homes on the banks of the creek. The first settlers were white men who came to Riverdale to find a new home. The men made some money by selling goods they developed while living in India. Riverdale was first settled by American colonists in 1795. The original settlers were soldiers who had come overland from Philadelphia. They named their community after General George Washington’s home, Mount Vernon. The town began to grow quickly after it was designated as a stop on the Underground Railroad during the Civil War. Many abolitionists and free blacks fled to Riverdale because it was an important place for them to go before they could be arrested and sent back into slavery! In 1868, Riverdale became part of the newly formed City of Chicago! This change didn’t sit well with many of the original settlers, who saw themselves as fishermen and farmers rather than city-dwellers! But despite their protests, many of them moved into what is now known as riverdale when Chicago amalgamated with other municipalities within its boundaries in 1871!
There is no one answer to this question as the history of target holders has been various and varied. From ancient Greece and Rome, through the Middle Ages and up until today, different shooters have found different ways to use these devices. One of the earliest known targets holders was an omphalos, or bull's-eye, device created by Theodosius I in 447 AD. This simple design consisted of a flat piece of metal with a hole drilled in it at one end. A leather strap was then wrapped around this object and tied around two points at opposite ends. The purpose of this type of target holder was not fully understood at the time but it is thought that it served as a means for demonstrating shooting skills to other individuals or for displaying Knights' equipment during tournaments. The first commercially successful attempts at firing projectiles from handguns occurred in 1795 when Nicholas-Jacques Conte fired three rounds from his pistols at an inch (25 mm) diameter ball off a short stick made from bamboo about 25 feet (8 m) away. At first these tests were limited to small groups of friends but soon began being used in official matches as well as private demonstrations across Europe. In 1812 John Browning developed his "firearm caliber" which allowed him to shoot projectiles more than 1,000 yards (800 m) out without having them break down due to their weight or impact force against any solid objects nearby.
