However much different life meant less focus on manufacture/marketing aspects within Line Products…….. With world war ii looming ever nearer there seemed little need for anything sporty but big production nonetheless…..As luck would have it AlCapone met someone who might have been interested( Gustav Herrmann)……….Herrmann owned some 6 patents covering various aspects relatingto turrets & sights for artillery pieces….After some discussion Herrmann decided upon creating what would becomethe modern day scope mount.........This new design evolved outof an earlier Attempt at A recoil eliminatorfor Mauser carbines…Chamber blocks were addedbut ultimately failed due To difficult machining conditions….Herriman decided against going ahead with sucha project as WWII soon unfolded………… Refocusing resources elsewhere seemed like best course
