Airguns followed suit soon after, thanks in part to their ability to be fired from many different locations within reach (such as rooftops and balconies). In 1886, several inventors created what is now known as the “shotgun loophole” which allowed anyone who owned a shotgun that could also fire rifles (ejection ports on these shotguns were used to allow rounds to enter and fire automatically) to start manufacturing airguns using this invention alone. This opening up of the market helped make airguns more accessible and encouraged othersto develop them further. By 1912, there were over 1 million registered firearm owners who possessed an automatic shotgun that could also fire rifles under license alone! Throughout its history, airguns have had various modifications designed specifically for their use – from simple gas-operated pistols all the way up through high-end machine guns/air cannons. Rantoul is a small town in McLean County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,582 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield metropolitan area. The first settler in Rantoul was Nicholas J. Deutsch who arrived in 1824. He platted what is now Rantoul on a piece of land that he had bought from the Ottawa people. The town was named for General James Fenton, who fought in the French and Indian War and was made a general by George Washington. In 1828, Rantoul became the home to one ofthe first school districts in McLean County when it formed with neighboring Carbondale and Decatur schools as a result of state legislation making education compulsory for all residents up to age 23. In 1865, Appleton Township (later Northampton Township) formed from parts of Carbondale and Decatur School Districts; this left Rantoul with only Carbondale Elementary School remaining until 1957 when it was moved to its current location on State Route 5 east of town.
