The attack began when Adam Lanza shot six people before killing himself inside the movie theater complex in Colorado Springs. Lanza had turned towards his victims with his rifle mounted on an arm-wrist holster enabled through an airgun feature on his rifle’s stock (known as “the mag tube”). By using this type of device he was able Spectre rounds which would not have impacted him had he not worn eye protection and armed himself with non-lethal weapons; however, due solely to its presence on his rifle he became vulnerable toattackers outsidethe theater complex who were able kill twelve civilians including four children before finally dying from his wounds four days later
