After passage of this legislation, many people began storing their handguns indoors instead of outdoors because they felt they would be more secure against potential robbery or theft (Goudreau & Kratz 1998). Since then, several amendments have been made to the gun control laws in Quincy. In 1992, lawmakers passed another law increasing regulation on magazine capacity; magazines that held more than ten rounds were now required to be stored separately from other weaponry (Lamberth 1993). In 2002, lawmakers passed yet another amendment limitingfirearm ownership within two hundred fifty feet of schools; this measure was designed To reduce shootings at child care facilities (Flamm 2003). Finally, in 2013 there was passage of yet another amendment which allows concealed carry pistols without proper training; this amendment allows anyone with criminal records or a history of violent behavior to apply for certification and qualify as an “active shooter” if they meet certain requirements (Vandiver 2013a). These amendments reflect changing needs and concerns relatedto gun safety across America – particularly during times such as these when mass shootings occur across various communities nationwide

Quincy, Illinois is a city in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 26,471 at the 2000 census and it is the second largest city in Kane County after Chicago. Quincy was founded on December 12, 1829 by General John Cullum as a log cabin community near what is now the village of Quincy. The first permanent settler in Quincy was James Wrenshall who arrived with his family on October 21, 1830. In 1836, Isaac Austin moved to Quincy from Tennessee and opened a grist mill there that became the first cotton gin in Illinois. In 1840, George Stephenson built the first railroad track through Kane County and built one of the first mills in Quincy. The town grew rapidly during this time and by 1860 had acquired a post office, school system (now part of Chicago), hotel and several stores. By 1870 Quincy had become an agricultural center with more than 100 farms producing corn, soybeans and other vegetables. However during World War I – although many buildings remained from this time including some of Quinnipiac's original streets – much of the town was destroyed in fighting around Chicago; most notably along State Street where over 60 buildings were burned including schools and churches which were used as fire pits for artillery practice by American forces engaged in combat against German troops across Europe

Quincy was founded by the Kaskaskia family in 1795. The first post office in Quincy was established in 1807. In 1839, Quincy became the capital of Illinois.
