In 1860, when Abraham Lincoln was elected president of America and re-elected two years later with a large majority, he appointed David Hogg to be his Commissioner of Agriculture undersecretary at War Department where he would play an important role in shaping American agriculture policy during this time period. In 1865, after Lincoln's assassination, Hogg took over as commissioner of agriculture and continued to work closely with Abraham Lincoln's successor Ulysses S Grant on food policies during Reconstruction. Upon Grant's death in1868; Hogg became acting commissioner until May 14th 1870 when Samuel Morse succeeded him. After Morse lost office due to corruption allegations; Hogg served as acting commissioner again until November 8th 1870 when Amos Kendall became acting commissioner until December 4th 1870 when John Sherman took over from him because he could not stand Kendall's politics or management style which was considered chaotic by many within government circles On December 5th 1870 John Sherman announced that he would not be taking office because of health reasons and appointed George Stephenson (the son of prominent railroad builder Alfred Crampton) as Acting Commissioner instead This move signaled a changing trend within government where appointees were no longer automatically assumed to continue Obama-era policies or practices if they failed to meet certain qualifications set forth by their appointing authority ; instead appointment decisions were made through more rigorous process which required written proposals from potential commissioners along with hearings both before local legislatures as well as commissions formed specifically for that purpose . Pontiac's success led to increased production at other auto factories across the United States; within five years, American Motors Inc., which became Chrysler Corporation in 1914, was headquartered in Pontiac with an annual production capacity of more than 1 million vehicles! However, because Flint was then part of Michigan and not Illinois, GM could not use Pontiac as its corporate headquarters; instead it chose nearby Cadillac for that purpose.
