In 1957, the company became known as Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) after Time Warner's purchase of Turner Broadcasting System Corporation. With TBS ownership came an increased focus on publishing firearm magazines including Gun Magazines Inc., later renamed Turner Firearms Media Group Inc., which has since been sold to Pretec Arms Holdings LLC..

Pontiac, Illinois is a small town in the southern half of Cook County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 5,895. The town was founded in 1847 by three brothers who named it after their father's home in Normandy, France. Pontiac is located on the National Road and Highway 20 corridor between Chicago and Peoria. The first settler to arrive in what is now Pontiac was Abram Shriver, who arrived in 1837 from Hungary with his family. He built a cabin near where he lives today and named his home "Pontiac." In 1840, John Shriver moved from Hungary to present-day Pontiac and organized a community there. John's son Hiram also settled here around this time. The early years of Pontiac were difficult as the area was part of an Indian Territory under military control at the time. However, development soon began due to local fur traders' connections with Chicago merchants and investors interested in land west of the Mississippi River. Roads were built connecting Chicago with these new settlements and industry began to grow quickly; making Pontiac one of the most important towns on the sectional map by 1850. In 1852, two brothers named George Muhlenberg started another settlement just east of town – Pekin – which would become one of its biggest rivals for economic supremacy over Pontiac over ensuing decades. although Pekin ultimately failed to attract much attention from settlers until after World War II when road construction diverted traffic away from downtown Chicago; making Pekin something more like a sleepy backwater again lionized only for nostalgists today . The coming years saw increased banking activity thanks to banker Amos Kendall’s connection with Jno Powers & Brothers bank across Route 20 south of town (later Schaefer Bank). This led not only to an increase in business but also helped build up some infrastructure including roads that continue serving both towns even into present day . It wasn't until 1893 when railroad tracks reached town that things really changed; transportation became perhaps healthier for locals as goods could be shipped directly into Chicago instead of taking multiple trips all over rural Cook County

In recent years, many small businesses have moved into downtown Pontiac while high-tech startups have taken up space in Midtown district; both areas are experiencing significant gentrification today.
