This activity began around 1875 when one of its employees named Amos Fenton started selling hats made from felt instead of straw or straw-bale material then common at the time. Over time, other employees added their own designs to these hats which often featured local landmarks or quotations from local residents or leaders within Plainfield society. In 1840, Amos Stiles built what is now known as Stiles' Furniture Depot on present-day West Side Avenue in plainFIELD; this depot helped lead to development around this block including Stiles' Cafe (now known as Hennepin County Central Public Library), grocery store/cafeteria LaCroix (now defunct), banks First National Bank (now Wells Fargo) and Peoples Bank (now Jardine Financial Corp.), schools Galesburg Elementary School (1850-1912), Bellefontaine Intermediate School (1912-1968), Prairie View A&M University - Plainsview Campus (1979-Present). Industry growth led to increasingly dense populations along with accompanying infrastructure needs: transportation improved with new railroads coming into operation; jobs were available through towns annexing themselves or forming special districts; schools were opened up to accommodate growing populations; services such as hospitals began appearing; neighborhoods started being formed within larger cities or suburbias etc.; housing developments popped up throughout suburbs cater mostly to workers commuting into these areas for jobs Downtown during those days...
