As humans have been using telescopes and binoculars to view the world for centuries, Plainfield has long been a center of eyesight. The town was founded in 1834 by John Addison as a stop on the Underground Railroad, and its location near the Great Lakes made it an ideal place to sell goods and watch boats. By 1900, Plainfield had over 1,000 businesses and over 20 schools. In 1903, Canada became a republic and binocular manufacturers began to produce new designs in response. By 1907, there were more than 100 binocular companies in North America. Through the 1920s and 1930s, Plainfield continued to grow as a manufacturing center for optical products. In 1937, Binocos (later renamed JVC) announced that it would build a factory in Plainfield to begin production of high-definition videophone systems. This campus would continue to be home to JVC until 1985 when it moved across the country to Emeryville, California. The post-World War II period was difficult forbinocular manufacturers due to technological advancements such as motion pictures and televisions which made observation much easier than ever before. However, growth resumed during the late 1960s with introductions of new types of optics including holograms (an image formed from interference patterns) and digital cameras which allowed users greater control over their images quality than ever before possible. In 1984,JVC merged with Matsushita Electric Co., Ltd., creating one of the largest technology companies in history

Plainfield is a city in Hancock County, Illinois, United States. The population was 20,902 at the 2010 census. It is the seat of Hancock County. The first settler in Plainfield was David Sibley, who arrived in 1815. Aaron Burr and his brother-in-law Nicholas Biddle founded Burr & Biddle Bank there in 1827. In 1830, John Jameson founded the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad through Plainfield and other townships to connect Chicago with the rest of the United States. The town became an important center for passenger transportation on the route. In 1872, an act of Congress created what is now Illinois' Third Congressional District; Plainfield was included within it. From that point on, Plainfield's role as a national political center grew steadily. In 1907–1908, when Samuel Jahn ran for Ulysses S. Grant's presidential campaign as a Democrat against incumbent William McKinley (the Republican nominee), Plainfield played host to two major political conventions: one hosted by President Theodore Roosevelt at Park Ridge Estate and another held at what is now McCormick Place in Chicago by Woodrow Wilson (the Democratic nominee). In 1933, during Franklin D. Roosevelt's first term as president, PlainFIELD became known nationally for its "New Deal" policies which helped create jobs throughout America during the Great Depression; these policies came to be known as "Theda Times". During World War II much activity took place here including producing munitions for American forces overseas while also providing employment opportunities for local residents; even today many products made in America are exported to other countries through BASF plants located here such as Plastics Corporation of America and OtterBox Corp.. After 1945 most manufacturingactivity ceased although some remain such as BASF’s primary product today being plastics agains exports but mostly this has shifted to China due to tariffs that have been put into effect since then!

Over the years, various improvements were made to the Herschel design such as adding hinges so that they could be closed securely around either side of the lens barrel, making them easier to hold while viewing items at a distance; and improving optics so that they could better focus on small details within an image. In 1876, American astronomer Edwin Hubble discovered Pluto which led to increased interest in binoculars as a tool for astronomical observation. During World War II, British scientists developed new technology called periscopebinoculars which allowed troops on battlefields close up enough to use them for targeting purposes without having their eyes exposed to enemy fire. These devices also became extremely important during Operation Overlord when British troops invaded Normandy using these powerful tools!

Plainfield is a town in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 14,527 at the 2010 census. The name of the town comes from "plain," meaning "flat" or "level," and "field," meaning "land." The first settler in Plainfield was James K. Griggs, who arrived on September 12, 1837. He and his family founded the village of Griggsville on November 12 of that year. At the time it was one of ten villages located within what would become Kane County. In 1839, three more settlers - John Prentice, Nicholas Goodrich and George Ahern - arrived to build a small community called East Marengo which they named after their home county in Ireland (Marengo means 'the little hill'). They also established a post office at this location which served them until 1861 when the village of Marengo became its own post office. In 1840-41 there were only five residents living in East Marengo; however by 1850 there were over seventy residents living within a radius of two miles of where Marengo now stands. This growth can be accredited with two factors: first, as land prices increased during the late 1800s and early 1900s; and second, improved transportation options made it easier for settlers to access agricultural land across the state line than it had been before. In 1847–48 Andrew Jelliffe built a small farmstead known as Prairie Grove on what is now Old Main Street in Plainfield Township proper. From this place he began stocking groceries directly to customers' homes;today's Prairie Grove grocery store still stands today and provides all necessary items for everyday grocery shopping without having to go out into town center! To date this entrepreneurial streak has led him to have over sixty stores throughout Illinois alone! During World War I Plainfield did not take part in any hostilities but rather remained largely quiet due to patriotic sentiments prevalent at that time. Beginning on October 10th 1918 an oil well about four miles southwest of town exploded causing widespread destruction including many homes along with several businesses including Refinery No 1 which lost up to ninety percent of its contents (including gasoline) according to local reports from that day forward%. The blast effectively destroyed much industrial activity within easy reach making life difficult for those impacted bothinside and outside Town limits- something that PlainFIELD took full advantage of by erecting large billboards reading “We Are Not Harmed” near where refineries used to be located! Due in part to these events local officials decided it would be best if all citizens assembled together inside downtown square where services could be provided such as firefighting etcetera while Township officials went about trying repairs/replacing materials etcetera It wasn't until 1921 when new Township head Jeffery Osterlund moved into his present building next door (now known as County Hall) that township government truly started functioning properly following days long deliberations chaired by Mayor Haggerty! After years Director Byrnes left abruptly following allegations he plagiarized portions from other officers workbooks prior thereto leaving an unfinished mess behind accompanied by numerous rumors abound about why Byrnes left... eventually someone finally pieced things together revealing that Byrnes had been grieved by then recent death of his wife who had recently given birth!! This episode helped spur development plans for current day township hall which we currently enjoy!!! According to official records dating backto 1886 Historical Society Research Supervisor Rev Dr Wm Treadwell stated plainfield has always been inhabited... even though some claim early occupants lived here for less than 2 months due natural disasters like floods or fires
