Reverend Wilson served as pastor for more than 60 years until his death on March 5th, 1912 at age 84 years old. On October 10th, 1907 an important event occurred that would have significant ramifications for future residents of Park Ridge: Franklin D Roosevelt was elected President of the United States less than three months later! As president he issued his “New Deal” which included programs such as social security, healthcare reform and public works projects throughout America including Parkside Boulevard which paralleled Lake Michigan! In 1922 McDonalds became home to America's first drive thru restaurant; it opened at 7046 W Irving Ave., just south of today's IKEA!
