This type of sling is made out of two pieces: the main body, typically made from durable webbing, and a small leather or nylon strap that goes around the waist or shoulder. In 1892, a patent was granted to Amos Adams for the design of a sling that could be used with an armload of firearms. The Adams sling is still in use today as the modern day version.
