This success led to additional gun companies being created throughoutOswego until 1911 when Samuel Adams took over the business operations of the Osborne Arsenal. In 1924, Adams merged his company with Winchester Repeating Arms Company which had been founded two years earlier by Nicholas Gardiner Hunt. The Winchester Repeating Arms company continued production of firearms until 1957 when it merged with Colt Firearms Company to form Colt Incorporated (CFL). The new company continued production of handguns under several names before becoming known as Glock USA in 2000. At this time, GlockUSA was one of the largest handgun producers in North America with sales totaling more than $7 billion globally! Although gun manufacturing has cease production at Colt Incorporated since 2007, airgun manufacturing has not stopped completely either; Glocks are still made onsite at both Glock USA and Colt Manufacturing plants worldwide! In the late 19th century, Oswego began to become known as a center for local pottery production. The industry declined during World War I but resumed after the war. It occupies most of a small valley that forms part of the east side of Chicago River Valley between Cook County to the north and Lake Michigan to the south-central portion of Illinois; this area was once forested with oak trees and other large trees that have now been replaced by smaller plants such as willows and cornfields. According to the 2010 census, Oswego had a total population of 2,836 people living within its limits: 1,798 households (or 84%) were married couples living together, 524 (or 17%) had a female householder with no husband present, 367 (or 10%) had a male householder with no wife present, and 167 (or 4% of all households) consisted solely of individuals over 65 years old.

Oswego, Illinois is a small town in Cook County, Illinois. The population was 5,859 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Oswego was platted on February 15, 1837 by Jonas O'Leary and James McNamara. The original name of the town was Indian Ponds. Oswego was once a thriving agricultural village known for its corn and beans production; however, those industries have all but disappeared over the years due to changes in farming practices and automation. However, there are still some remaining businesses that use agriculture as their primary focus: a feedlot for cows, hay crops for horses and pigs, and a bakery that makes bread from flour from maize (a type of rice). The first post office in Oswego opened in 1838. In 1851-1852, it became part of the Great Western Railroad company which connected Chicago with other inner-city communities such as Bridgeview and Lawndale. The railroad quickly lost money and failed to make any significant impact on Oswego's economy; however, it did bring new residents to the small town. "In time," writes author Ebony Elizabeth Johnson “the local grocery store became one of the few places where people could get fresh produce before they went into work." By 1978 this store had closed down due to competition from larger stores within walking distance or less than an hour's drive away; however, when OSGWA renovated their building in 1984 they included a garden center that remain operational to this day." In addition to groceries and general merchandise there were also several printing shops which printed items such as newspapers and ballots during election days as well as various gifts for family occasions like birthdays orChristmas presents (). Some other businesses that continue operation today include two banks (one old fashioned), three hair salons/beauty parlors/, four dry cleaners/ laundry facilities/, five restaurant/cafés/, six funeral homes/, seven General Merchandise stores (), nine farm equipment dealerships (), ten vehicle parts stores (), eleven video game retailers (), twelve home improvement stores (); thirteen shoe stores (); fifteen gas stations (); sixteen appliance rental outlets (); seventeen pawnbrokers (); eighteen beauty supply stores (); nineteen limousine service companies.; twenty-one car dealershipriageshops.; twenty-two winery rentals;"

Oswego was founded in 1827 by General David Dixon and his wife, Nancy. The town grew rapidly after the opening of the Erie Canal in 1825, and by 1830 it had a population of 1,500 people. In 1831, Dixon donated land to the town for a public square and schoolhouse. The first public meeting in Oswego took place on November 15, 1831. The town continued to grow rapidly until it reached its peak in 1840 when it had a population of 5,000 people. Oswego declined during the 1840s due to economic reasons and fell victim to various natural disasters such as Hurricane Andrew in 1992. However, since the 2000s there has been an effort to revive Oswego through redevelopment and investment.
