Manufacturing jobs have been declining since 2000 while education jobs have grown more rapidly than industry jobs over that time period; however this trend may reverse soon due to increases in labor costs associated with new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI). A number of parks are located within walking distance of many neighborhoods including Hyde Park Heights/South Shore Village/Munster Woods/Belmont Gardens/Brooklyn Park/Northeast Side Village; all without having to go out any further than your neighborhood grocery store or local convenience store! Oak Lawn was founded in 1845 by James Clough and his brother-in-law, Samuel L. Atkins. The town was named for a large oak tree that stood on the town's original site. Oak Lawn grew rapidly during the 1850s, and by 1860 it had over 200 residents. By 1870, Oak Lawn had become a borough of Chicago. In 1875, the city annexed Oak Lawn, creating a single municipality with a population of 6,000 people. The first municipal government in Chicago was an elected body made up of twelve citizens who met in City Hall to discuss local problems. The first mayor of Oak Lawn was John Haggerty. After the annexation of other towns into the city, only two mayors were elected from each of the new municipalities: Andrew Dickson from Elmhurst (1876-78) and William McGillicuddy from Park Ridge (1879-81). In 1892, Mayor George Biddle appointed Municipal Court Judge John Fenton as mayor pro tempore for trial purposes during his absence on vacation. On July 1st, 1893 Mayor Biddle resigned effective September 1st due to health reasons and Fenton took office as acting mayor until he could be appointed by Governor Charles Evans Hughes. Fenton served until 1897 when he became state treasurer under President Grover Cleveland and left politics entirely after that year's election cycle; he died suddenly at home on November 2nd aged 78 years old. On December 12th 1893 Charles Wickersham became Acting Mayor Pro Tem while Mayor George Biddle recovers from surgery Wickersham served until February 14th 1895 when he resigned due to death at home before taking office asacting mayor again effective February 15th. In 1896 City Council decided to rename their borough "Oak Lawn" instead of continuing to use "Chicago." This change is still reflected in some community documents today such as street names like Pulaski Street which are spelled out as "OAK LAWN" rather than "Pulaski Heights".
