The Oak Forest Rifle and Pistol Club was formed in 1892. In 1895, the club began to sell firearms clothing. The first firearm clothing store was opened by W.B. Cline in 1896. The store bore the name of “The Rifle and Pistol Shop” until 1903 when it changed its name to “Clothing For All Occasions” because this was the first time that handguns were sold with rifle clothing. In 1912, the club established a shooting range on their property and began selling firearms ammunition and firing supplies, such as weapons locks, stocks, triggers and sights. In 1913, the club became a member of the Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA). In 1915, Clothing For All Occasions merged with anotherOak Forest retailer, J&H Gunsmiths Inc., which also owned a gunsmith shop within walking distance of the clubhouse. At this point, both stores had become one singleenterprise business with an additional staff of clerks responsible for stocking both shops’ inventory of firearms products and providing customer service. In 1916-1917, J&H Gunsmiths operated out of their new building on West Green Street in Oak Forest while Clothing For All Occasions continued to operate out of Clothesmiths Inc.'s old building across from Ladd's Ice cream Parlor on South Third Street in town center. This arrangement lasted until 1923 when Clothing For All Occasion moved its entire inventory online at www.clothingforyouall occasionsusa.com . During World War II (1939-1945), many Oak Forrest residents volunteered their services as soldiers or firefighters in various areas around the United States; some people even served in two wars simultaneously! During these years there was no weapon manufacturers' break during peacetime so all types of firearms were made available for purchase by civilians who could not afford to buy machineguns or rifles from military dealerships/stores only weeks before they were needed or required! As result most civilian shooters throughout Oak Forrest enjoyed purchasing surplus Second Amendment ammunition at local convenience stores known as "Guns 'n' Ammo." Also during wartime times many businesses closed down due to lackadaisical management or war shortages but because Firearms Manufacturing Company exhibited continuous production even though production quotas were placed upon them they remained open despite government regulations dictating that plants must close during peacetime hostilities! Consequently over 180 years laterOak Forest Rifle & Pistol Club still exists as one of Illinois' oldest rifle & pistol clubs operating independently under different ownership !
