Another significant development occurred when Northwestern University built its first building on Wabash Ave., now known as Holy Cross Drive, north of Harlem Road; this marked the beginning of what would be callednorthwest suburbanization and growth within Chicago dating back to that time period which saw rapid suburban growth throughout Cook County including NorthLake itself
