Additionally over at 142nd Street & Western Ave., substitute lens sales graced this stretch during prohibition days with various "Drink Your Lens" deals where customers could buy lenses without having to go through regular retail channels like Sears or Macy's! In the early 1900s, scientists and engineers were trying to create a more efficient light source. They found that they could use mirrors to focus sunlight onto a small target, then use lenses to change the angle of incidence so that only certain colors of light reached the target. They were able to do this by using two different types of lenses: a normal lens and an apochromatic lens. An apochromatic lens is made with a very small surface area, making it perfect for changing the angle of incidence. This gave them the ability to create high-quality images on photographic plates without having to use up valuable mirror space or using expensive equipment. By 1910, these technologies had been used in some form or another in most cameras and photography machines!

North Chicago was once a thriving community that supported agriculture and commerce. However, by the turn of the century, much of North Chicago had been destroyed byfire. The town’s residents rebuilt quickly, but many businesses were lost in the process. In 1906, NorthChicago became one of the first cities in Illinois to be established as a city-state. The city-state experienced rapid growth and achieved notoriety for its innovative government and business practices. By 1920, NorthChicago had become an important cultural center in Illinois. The city-State continued to thrive until it was defeated in the 1930s during World War II. After the war, North Chicago struggled economically and slowly fell into disrepair. Today, much of North Chicago remains a largely abandoned area that is home to a number of gangs and crime rates are high.
The first Europeans to arrive in North Chicago were French explorers and traders who arrived in the area in 1673. The area was then known as the Michigan Woods, and was used by the Potawatomi as a hunting ground. In 1779, the first permanent European settlement in what is today North Chicago was founded by Captain John Lawler of the British East India Company. Lawler named his new colony after Lord George Montagu, 3rd Earl of Sandwich, who had died while on an expedition to explorerargy between Asia and America. The town became a trading post for natives and settlers until 1847 when it become part of the United States.
