In 1892, there was one Rifle Maker in North Aurora- Isaac Watts. He made rifles only. In 1903, there were two Riflemakers in North Aurora- George Custer and Horace Mann. They made handguns only. In 1911, there was one Shotgun Maker in North Aurora- Nicholas Giannini. He made shotguns only. In 1925, there were four Gunsmiths in North Aurora- John Leddy (Rifle Maker), Abram Levy (Shotgun Maker), Lewis Mumford (GlockMaker), and Samuel Goldwyn (Sporting Rifle Maker).Each Gunsmith had their own businesses which resulted in them not being able to work on all firearm projects at the same time.
North Aurora, Illinois is a small town in the state of Illinois. The population was 6,859 at the 2010 census. North Aurora is located in Kane County. North Aurora is bordered by La Salle to the north, West Dundee to the east, and Iroquois Heights to the south. The community was founded in 1853 when three men from nearby Round Lake donated land for a Methodist church and school. The first post office was established in 1854, and the first store was opened in 1860. In 1870, an area near what is now known as Main Street was purchased by J.W. Kapp who named it "Kane County". The community experienced a growth spurt during World War II with many new homes being built on or around military bases such as Fort Sheridan and Camp Butler which were used by both American forces and Japanese troops during that time period. After the war, many people left North Aurora for economic reasons includinglaughter factories like Wernher von Braun's National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility at Greenfield Arsenal which closed in 1967 followed by other companies over time until most of those jobs moved out of Kane County altogether *. After more than 50 years of continuous growth*, North Aurora has come to be considered one of the most vibrant communities within Kane County*. By 1836, all batteries on warships had been replaced by double-barrel rifles called “ breechloaders” which could fire more rounds per minute than earlier weapons. By 1840, rifles had become so common that they had started being phased out on warships for use on land. In 1853, John Browning patented his first rifle known as the Browning Rifle which he made into a popular weapon throughout America during both World Wars I and II

North Aurora is a city in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 25,869 at the 2010 census. It is the smallest of Cook County's six cities and the second-to-last in size. North Aurora was incorporated on December 3, 1892. The first settler in what is now North Aurora was John Hargrave, who arrived from Connecticut in 1795. He founded the village of Hartford on May 20, 1802 and named it after his home town of Hartford, Connecticut. The village had a population of only 10 people when it was organized. In 1834, North Aurora became one of five townships within Cook County. On November 12 that year, Judge James Kettlesworth ordered all male residents over 21 to present themselves for military service or else be deported to their countries of origin. For two years prior to this order, no one had shown up for their militia duty; however due to an increase in immigration from Italy and Hungary during this time period and also because General James Shields' occupation as Commander-in-Chief of the West Branch Militia caused many immigrants to flee into Illinois without proper documentation or registration (Shields being known as "The Open Door"), many men decided they needed some form of protection against possible deportation should their countrymen not show up for service abroad. On October 2nd 1836 at 4:00 PM all males21 or older were required by law to present themselves at Battalion Headquarters located on High Street near Burlington Avenue between now day’s First Ward boundaries and then go east on High Street past First Ward lines until they reached Third Ward limits where they would turn north along Elmhurst Road until they reached Second Ward Boundaries which are today’s Garfield Park boundaries northeast corner thereof between State Line Road and Western Ave., north side thereof between Chicago Ave./Wabash Ave./Carnegie Rd., east side thereof between Dearborn St./Milwaukee Rd., south side thereof between McCormick Place/Wabash Rd.–all persons having resided within the Township since its organization must render military services therein before proceeding further.—This Order continued throughout next winter when noontime every man twenty one years old & over found himself quartered at Battalion Headquarters with his substitutes—and so proceeded until such time as orders were given by Major General Shields ordering them back inside the township.—These Military Orders were published daily excepting Sunday which was used by officers Mobilizing outside for Brigade Operations Afterward these same Streets went through an exchange like this—High Street going from Burlington Avenue pastnowdayFirst Ward Boundaries thence turning easterly along Elmhurst Road until reachingnowdaySecondWardBoundaries north side therebetweenStateLineRoadand WesternAve., east side thence between DearbornSt./MilwaukeeRd.–all persons having reside
