The first gunsIGHTS company was founded in 1951 by three men who wanted to make sure all citizens had the same access to firearms. Gun lights are now an integral part of north Aurora's firearm history and tradition. The early gun lights were simply made from old flashlight lenses that had been cut down to their minimal size and glued onto wooden frames. Many people in north Aurora remember when the first handguns were brought into the town. Many residents were so excited to finally be able to shoot with their own weapons, they didn't even think about how these new pistols looked. One of the earliest handgun models was called the Model A1 Pistol which was designed in 1946 by Charles Wesson Jr. It featured a 4-inch barrel, 3-inch aperture,29 rounds magazine and a .45ACP chambering inside its black plastic frame. These pistols quickly became popular among local law enforcement officers and civilians alike due to their ease of use and accurate fire rate. In 1949, another weapon manufacturer contacted George Steiner about starting his own line of handguns called the Browning Hi-Power Pistol (BHP). The BHP was designed for military service and featured an 8-inch barrel with a 5 inch bore diameter that allowed it to handle larger ammo rounds than other handguns on the market at that time. This pistol quickly gained popularity among civilian shooters as well as law enforcement officials throughout north Aurora thanks to its accuracy, durability, and large magazine capacity. In 1966, Gunlights Corporation released their very first handgun model which became known as the Model P2 Pistol: This model featured a 4-inch barrel with a 1 1/4 inch bore diameter that allowed it handle smaller ammo rounds than other handguns on the market at that time; it also boasted an excellent fire rate making it perfect for personal defense purposes or target practice! At this point in time, no one knew what they were talking about when they said "gun light." The Model P2 Pistol quickly became one of North Aurora's most iconic firearms and has remained unchanged ever since!

North Aurora is a town in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 5,848 at the 2010 census. North Aurora is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The first white people to live in what is now North Aurora were pioneers who settled there around 1837. The community was named for John Neely Curtis, a captain in the Union army during the American Civil War and one of the original incorporators of Kane County. It was organized as a village on April 6, 1859, by a group of twelve farmers and men from neighboring towns who had gathered to form an agricultural society. The following year, North Aurora became the county seat when Kane County was created from portions of Cook and McLean counties. In 1865, construction began on what would become Northwestern Illinois State Normal School (now Northwestern University). That same year saw also the opening of Northern Illinois Gaslight Company's first store in town which remains open today as Northwest Foods Inc.. In 1870-71, North Aurora built its first post office which still stands at 9th and Dearborn Streets. In 1881-82 new waterworks were installed which made irrigation possible for much of north central IL with crops such as corn and beans becoming mainstay local industries while businesses sprung up such as Cement Works (founded 1886), National Cash Register (1889), Smith's Hardware Store (1893) and many more including beauty parlors until 1965 when it closed due to competition from Sears Roebuck & Co.'s stores across town. During this time too churches proliferated with First Methodist Church being built in 1888 followed by Stonington Presbyterian Church in 1893 before finally becoming Evangelical Lutheran Church Dutch Reformed located at 12th & LaSalle Streets in 1921 when that congregation merged with General Synod's Zion Lutheran Church located just downriver from where Northwest Foods Inc. now stands - making it one of only two Lutheran Churches remaining within Kane County after World War II! North Aurora experienced significant industrial growth during this time thanks to manufacturing like McCormick etchings starting up here beginning in 1901 followed by other manufacturers until 1974 when foreign ownership led to closures along with most non-manufacturing businesses including Washburn Rubber Company near downtown closing down completely between 1966-72; Export Corporation closed its doors 1964; Koppers Drug Mart moving out 1965; Armoury Industries 1984 leaving only Wacker Chemical Co., Incorporated remaining until 1985 when that company too moved out although some operations continued into 1992 through 1996! Today agriculture remains prevalently dominant with many familyowned businesses continuing along similar lines as well as several large scale farms providing employment for locals while services are provided by numerous small businesses catering primarily to residents within minutes' walk or bike ride away - ensuring excellent access to all that North Aurora has to offer!

In 1881, the village became a city and was renamed North Aurora after its location in Northwestern Illinois. The city grew rapidly during the 20th century and by 1970 had a population of over 39,000. However, economic stagnation in this era led to large declines in population and revenues throughout most of the 1990s until 2002 when North Aurora regained its former stature as one of Chicago's fastest-growing neighborhoods. Since 2002, however, North Aurora has been experiencing rapid gentrification with new construction and development taking place along Chicago's Lake Shore Drive corridor within walking distance of all major shopping malls and restaurants. This rapid growth has created tensions between residents who have traditionally resided in older neighborhoods near downtown and those who are moving into newer developments; some have accused developers of dividing communities by creating "gentrified" vs "non-gentrified" districts based on their own financial interests rather than representing what is best for all parties involved. Despite these concerns about gentrification and displacement, many residents remain supportive of their community and continue to live there despite challenges from newcomers or others who feel that they are displacing longtime residents or costing jobs to keep locals employed while also bringing new expenses such as high energy bills or increased security costs which can impact individual privacy rights.

During World War I, North Aurora played an important role as a munitions plant.
