Bipedalism has been present in North Aurora, Illinois for over 100 years. The first bipedal humans were found in the town in 1881. The town was founded by Quakers and there are still many active Quaker businesses and institutions in the town today. In 1911, North Aurora became the first city in Illinois to adopt a Municipal Code that allowed for two-wheeled vehicles. This new law helped promote bipedalism as an acceptable form of transportation within the city limits. By 1920, there were over 50 separate businesses and organizations with bipedal employees inNorth Aurora. Many of these businesses continue to operate today despite changes in technology or economic conditions. North Aurora is a town in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 5,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. North Aurora is located on the north side of Kane County and extends into Will County to the east. The village of North Aurora lies just south of the city limits of Aurora. The community was platted in 1871 by John A. Dolan and named for his home in Northumberland Township, Pennsylvania. The first settlers arrived in what is now North Aurora in 1871 with several families from Canada who had come overland through Illinois on their way to Iowa City. They built a log cabin near what is now Route 12 and started farming land that they bought from Indian traders and other early settlers who had been there before them. In 1875, they voted to incorporate as a town under the name "Aurora". In 1907, the town added a new schoolhouse which became known as "The Great White Hope" because it was one of only two schools open during World War I that were not converted into barracks or used for military purposes. After World War II ended, many people left for various reasons including plant closings at McCormick & Company meatpacking plants in nearby Westmont and Utica; however, some continued to live here until moving out towards Wauconda or Schaumburg when those communities began growing large enough to support their own populations without annexation by North Aurora. On July 1st 2009, residents of neighboring town Wauconda (population 3,362) petitioned to annex into North Aurora due to an increase in crime rates within their boundaries which turned out be unfounded since no such increase occurred adjacent to eithertowns despite repeated police patrols throughout both communities daily! According to 2011 census data published by IL comptroller Tom Weisenthal's office South Wauconda has lost over 60% its population between 1990-2010 while annexed by North Aurora has gained over 150%. This shows how unsubstantiated claims made about crime rates being linked directly with annexations are often nothing more than wishful thinking on behalf of developers looking for project stimulus funding!

The town's economy grew because of its location and capabilities as a center for trading goods with other parts of the United States and Europe. The Potters donated land to the town in order to create an open space that would be used for public education, farming, and pleasure pursuits. In 1863, North Aurora became the capital of DuPage County due to its central location within the county boundaries. In 1911, North Aurora participated in what is known as "The Great Chicago Fire." After many destroyed buildings in downtown North Aurora, Mayor Edward J. Byrne encouraged citizens to plant trees along city streets in memory of those lost during the fire that left over 10,000 people homeless and $27 million in damages. During World War I, North Aurora played an important role as an airfield for both American forces and German forces fighting on opposite sides of World War I. After World War II ended, North Aurora experienced rapid growth due to new technology advances which led to increased business opportunities for businesses such as food processing plants and plastics factories located nearby. The population increased rapidly through immigration from all over America throughout much of this period; however, crime rates remained high until they started trending downward around 1990-1991 when new Police Chief Tom Sivers took office
The first post office in North Aurora was established on October 3, 1836. The town of North Aurora was named for the Northern Indiana agricultural county of that name.
