These pistols were designed to shoot Indian darts that could not be shot with traditional arms such as swords or rifles. The Arsenal was one of the first gunsmiths in America. They manufactured a variety of handguns, rifles and shotguns. In 1812, Captain Fenton converted the Arsenal into a rifle shop. Here he began to develop what would become known as the Gunsmoke Rifle. This rifle was used by General George Washington during the War of 1812 and was a major success. After the war, Captain Fenton continued to produce firearms here at his shop until 1830 when he moved from North Aurora to Greenfield, Indiana where he died in 1834. In 1836, another captain named Nicholas Hennepin founded an ammunition company in North Aurora called Hennepin Ammunition Company Ltd.. This company manufactured ammunition for artillery, hunting and shooting purposes. The company became very successful and even exported their products to Europe! In 1846, Captain John Atherton purchased Hennepin Ammunition Company Ltd., making him sole owner and president of the company! Atherton continued to produce high-quality ammunition for both civilian use and military use throughout his life. In 2002, North Aurora voters passed a referendum to annex neighboring towns of Winnetka and Arlington Heights into the city limits of Chicago as part of then-new Mayor Richard Moseley's plans for more suburban growth within Chicago's boundaries. This annexation increased the population of North Aurora by 19 percent to 7,519 residents (the largest increase since 2007). The annexation also created the new municipality of Tower Grove Park which covers most of northwest suburban Cook County including Tower Grove Village, one of north central Illinois' oldest villages dating back to 1793 when Native Americans established trading posts there.

Naval warfare played a big role in Ancient Greece as well- so ammunition played an important role too! Ammunition manufacturing grew rapidly during this time because demand from both state militias and commercial customers was high. By contrast, technology had not yet caught up withhusst military needs; as late as 1812 muzzle loading guns could only shoot lead balls up to 50 yards without fail

North Aurora, Illinois is a small town in McLean County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,868 at the 2000 census. North Aurora is located on the eastern edge of the city of McLean and is bordered by Belleville to the north, Carpentersville to the east, Arlington Heights to the south and west and Mount Prospect to the northwest. The name "north aurora" means "northern lights." North Aurora was platted in 1872 as part of an act designed to provide for a larger area for development within what had been then known as York Township. The town site was selected from a number of places submitted by citizens. The first settler in North Aurora was George Hargrave who arrived about 1871. He built a house on what is now Elm Street. A post office called North Aurora was established in 1872, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1901. In 1903, there were only 5 residents living in North Aurora; however by 1910 there were over 50 residents. At that time most of the new housing being erected around Chicago had been completed and many people decided to move away from their downtown jobs into these new homes with less noise and more privacy than they could find back home. In 1916 North Aurora became one of six towns merged into Mclean Township which also included Belleville and Mount Prospect (now Arlington Heights). In 1924 North Aurora again became its own municipality when all but two of its sections were annexed into Mclean Township including much newer neighborhoods such as Deer Park and Lake View Terrace which are today some ofChicago's most popular areas despite their long history with annexation! Today North Aurora remains an agricultural community with many farms dotting its landscape including some dating back centuries like Orchard Hill Farms dating back to 1790! There are also several shopping malls located throughout this town making it one stop for shoppers across multiple genres!

As the site of a small town in Cook County, North Aurora is also home to significant history dating back to the 1800s. The first settler in this area was John Fox who founded a farm on the present day side of North Aurora Road in 1825. Fox's farm would become one of the most important agricultural holdings in the area and would play an important role in local politics for many years. In 1881, when Illinois became a state, North Aurora became part of DuPage County. The old school building on Main Street still stands as a reminder of what happened here during those early days. In 1907, North Aurora was incorporated as a city and soon afterwards it experienced some growth and development. One of the first things that city leaders did was begin work on developing its downtown area which now includes several high-quality commercial buildings and apartment complexes. Today, North Aurora is an important community with rich cultural heritage that contributes significantly to its overall atmosphere.
