It also bans open container sales within one kilometer of any business with more than five employees, requires landlords to check permits for tenants who own guns (whether rented or owned), requires businesses that sell food or ammunition to verify customers are not PAL holders (a person who has obtained a permit allowing them openly carry pistols), limits magazine capacity for handguns at ten rounds per inch, and sets strict requirements for proof of ownership including having an original Government-issued document along with a copy of your current registration card or driver's license). Norridge is a small town in Champaign County, Illinois, United States. The population was 2,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Norridge was platted in 1837 and named after John Norridge, an early settler. A post office was established in Norridge in 1839 and remained open until it was discontinued in 1907. The first store in Norridge was built by J.C. Wynne on Main Street near present-day Evergreen Road. The store became known as the "Wynne Store." In 1851, Pritchard & Company opened a grocery store on North High Street just east of where Alton Park now stands; this store served as the nucleus for many of the businesses that continued to operate in Norridge through the years. In 1863, Hildebrandt Brothers Zion Lutheran Church (later First United Methodist) began worshiping at what is now First United Methodist Center; this building still stands today and serves as one of Norridge's primary civic institutions. In 1892, drinking water arrived to Norridge from Abington Township and two wells were drilled; these wells continue to be used to this day and are considered among the city's earliest infrastructure achievements The community rapidly grew during World War II when residents voted to install a local military airfield so that they could participate fully in war efforts without having to leave their homes or face travel arrangements imposed by military authorities south of town In 1946, Central Illinois Normal University (the predecessor of UIUC) moved into its current site adjacent to First United Methodist Center; NORRidge became one of its constituent colleges In 1962, NORRidge voters approved a $10 million bond issue for improved schools including new buildings for high school students and adult education classes; these buildings have since been completed Nor Ridge also experienced rapid growth following enactment of General Assembly Bill No. 697 which created Champaign County Central Technical School District #2 which included NORRidge within its boundaries Since then NORRidge has seen continual progress with various special interests groups such as Channahs Drug Store Cooperative founders Drs Lohan & Kapp founding another business called Save-A-Lot Orchard Shopping Centre (now known simply as 'Save-A-Lot') opening up along South Walnut Avenue providing more than 1 million square feet (~14 acres) of retail space currently employing over 350 workers making it one of Champaign County's largest employers . John Norridge was an important figure in early Norwegian American history and served as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Norridge for over fifty years. He also developed land holdings hereabouts and played an active role in local politics and community development. His descendants continue to play significant roles in local life today. Today, Norrington Township includes some of the most beautiful countryside anywhere in Cook County. With rolling hills, clear skies and ample rainfall during all months of the year, it’s easy to see why this region attracted settlers since its natural resources are endless and its landscape offers plenty for farming, grazing and hunting opportunities. The township also contains several well-preserved historic buildings dating back to pioneer times such as the First Presbyterian Church (1839),Mr. Pugh’s Store (1847), Daniel & Elisha Haggerty House (1870), John Atherton School (1910) and Mrs. Atherton’s Livery stable (1925). Today these structures provide excellent exhibits on local history while providing attractive homes for visitors who enjoy spending time near rural America during summertime!
