There has been a gun mags history in Norridge, Illinois for over 100 years. The first magazine to be published in the town was called "The Rifleman" and was started by George Larkin in 1892. It is thought that the magazine may have been issue to soldiers stationed in the town during World War I. The first gun shop in Norridge was opened by J.F. Smith in 1903 and it is said that he began publishing Gun Magazines there as well. In 1916, The Rifleman became the first newspaper to be printed in Norridge and it still remains one of the most popular publications here today. In 1923, Mr. George Hetzel started selling guns at his shop and soon thereafter, many other firearms retailers followed suit. Norridge was platted in 1836 by Alexander Norridge and his brother-in-law, Amos Kendall. The first post office in Norridge was established in 1837. In 1853, the town became a city and it adopted its present name on December 12, 1853. The city's growth has been due to its location as an important transportation center for both agricultural and industrial production within Cook County as well as its status as a bedroom community for Chicago. Norridge has seen significant economic development over the years; several large corporations have their headquarters here including Comcast (2006), McDonnell Douglas (1948), PepsiCo (2007) and KFC (2005). Norridge also features several high-end shopping areas including the downtown area which contains numerous stores such as Sears, JCPenney and Macy's while other districts include Woodlawn Shopping Center which hosts many small businesses and older structures along State Street between Cicero Avenue and Pulaski Road with multiple anchor stores such as Sears Auto Parts & Accessories, Sam’s Club Warehouse Disney Store, Jamba Juice - now known as Kroger - Supervalu and Dick’s Sporting Goods among others
There is a long and varied history of gun magazines. It all began with the firing of firearms for sport, primarily with handguns. Rifle magazines were also developed in this early period, but it was pistols that became the most popular type to carry around with civilians. As rifles became more advanced, they needed more space to hold rounds, so magazine design evolved to meet this need. In 1857, Englishman William Fenton developed a new magazine design which would become known as the "Fenton Magazines." This magazine allowed rifle cartridges to be stored within the mag body itself, making reloading much easier. The popularity of these magazines led to their development into mass production by various firearm manufacturers throughout the 19th century and into the 20th century. The first handgun magazines were developed in America during the late 1800s. These magazines worked on a different system than what we know today - they used an ammunition belt system to store rounds inside of each individual mag body. When you fired your gun, each round would drop out of the magazine and fall into your hand (or pocket) below where you placed it when you picked up your weapon again. To reload your firearm using these magazines, you would remove one or two rounds from the ammo belt and insert them back into theMagazine at least once-per-turn while keeping track of where each round had been located in relation to others on your belt (and also noting which side down it was!). Reloading could take some time because every round had to be positioned exactly correct! Eventually however, this method became standard among Americans and other countries such as Britain began using similar systems as well. During World War II there was an increase in magazine capacity due to increased numbers of infantry fighting troops armed with assault rifles (such as The M1 Garand). To accommodate for this increased firepower, many manufactures created new magazine designs specifically for handguns that held additional rounds beyond what was available in traditional rifle magazines. Some famous handgun Magazine designs include The Browning Hi-Power Magazine (.22 LR), The SIG Sauer P226 Pistol Magazine (.45 ACP), Glock 25 Pistol Magazine (.357 Sig), Beretta 92mm Auto Pistolmagazine (9x19mm), Kimber K9 9mm Pistol Magazines (10+1 Rounds) etc.; however numerous other companies produced similar types of handguns without any indication that their product might eventually be adopted by American firearms manufacturers; such as Smith & Wesson's Model 619 Pistol Magazines which could hold up to 10 rounds total without having any issue loading them again after use
